New Cadillac CTS to introduced at next week's NY Auto Show

3.6 twin turbo at 420hp, but with an EPA of 17 / 25. Well then, why not use the N/A LT-1 at 450hp and not lose anything on fuel economy. In other words, I want a V8 and not a damn V6.

The next CTS-V will be a twin turbo or supercharged LT-1 6.2 liter with 600+ HP so all will be well with the world.

Although I applaud the improvements Cadillac has made in their engines and suspension; their current curious mixture of curves and "crease and fold" body styling leaves me cold.

Funny though, I took a 18 yr old friend who I work out with to the local Columbus auto show on Friday, He's a white kid who is pretty knowledgeable ricer boi .. primarily a Mitsu Evo and pooperoo STI fan boi. I was pretty shocked when I asked him as we walked out, if he had up to $50k to spend what would he buy. 1) Cadillac ATS 2) Grand Chick and 3) 2014 Impala. His almighty Evo was $40K so for a few thou more he could have a ATS.

Things are changing among those in the know.

The new CTS should be even better than the current generation. They have been getting better and better, I've always been impressed by the CTS. The ATS is a great car too. The 2014 CTS will have some great engines and really put the competition on edge! GM has been putting out some stellar cars as of late, too bad they didn't do that 10-20 years ago and they would be selling more cars than Toyota and VW's worldwide! I hope Chrysler can do the same now!! Funny I say this, I am not really an American car lover, but happy for GM.

Another know nothing. Sure wasn't true with CTS-V vs M5 and ATS vs 3 series. We have up to a year before we see the new CTS-V but I trust the outcome won't be any different.

    BMW kicks and Cadillac punches.

Aim for what exactly? Maybe I don't want to be another d-bag in a BMW! You must not understand how Cadillac has bettered themselves over the last decade. Sorry, not trying to start a flame war, but your comment is kind of pointless.

I'm not into 20-something slang terms.

And at YOUR advanced age, it's kinda-sorta pathetic that you try to be.

    You cannot in LA.

It's time I do something new and right now it's a:

Chevy SS (IF they offer a manual, which I think will happen)

Cadillac ATS-V if the 'V' turns out to be a V8

next Cadillac CTS-V if they push the 'V' past 600hp

2014 Impala LTZ if I want to play it 'cheap' Of course at upwards of $36 - 40K its not exactly cheap

My friend has a CTS from a few years back and it is a great car, very powerful, and not your typical geezer sedan like when you think of Cadillac.

Gotta admit I'm not up to par on my technical geek knowledge of cars, though.

I'm too geeky on that subject so I end up not really liking anything currently available. That's the problem knowing what's cuming 3-4 years ahead in the product pipeline.

When the Cadillac gets on the Car and Driver 10 best list http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2013-10best-cars-feature then I might take a look. But so far BMW is ahead of the game.

A 3 series coupe is an attractive, damn fine driving car! Not sure if it is worth the entry fee.....

Not fond of the design direction that company is going through.

I kinda Wish the grill on CTS would have been dropped down a little more.
