When I came out to my parents years ago, my mom said (and honestly believed) that she'd "never met a homosexual before".

Obviously that wasn't true, but she'd probably never met an OUT homosexual before.

I think bringing the issue up, and having "normal everyday folk" identified as gay has done a lot to bring the issue home. It's easy to be against an idea or group of people you've never met. It's a much different thing to be against the marriage and happiness of people you know and care about.

Coming out has brought us all a long way...

Great! And thanks, I would not have expected this thread & link from you.

Because you know that many of the Republicans and their policies you champion are opposed to this, and are dedicated to reversing these polling numbers, and legislatively blocking their implementation into law. How do you reconcile this conflict?

    He cannot.

I dunno. I'd like to hear from him on the question.

Cannot? It's just that it's not that important to me. Your choice may vary. You will not 'vary' mine.

You've 'heard' me probably hundreds of times on that question.
