I tried making chocolate protein ice cream once....

That was a disaster, it tasted so blah!

    Hmm...

Perhaps frozen protein singles.... I dunno *throws book over shoulder*

Great! Now I can be a healthy when I'm lonely & depressed =P

One minute with the right blender and some creativity and you'll have protein ice cream orgies with hordes of muscle studs.

I just set my Blendtec on "Ice Cream," pour in some pasteurized liquid egg white (makes it creamy, otherwise you got protein sorbet), vanilla whey protein powder and ice for vanilla ice cream. Get jiggy with more ingredients like I do and you too will have MOTDs beating a path to your door:

    Chai Vanilla Almond

Cinnamon, whole almonds, pasteurized liquid egg white, vanilla whey protein powder, ice.

    Cacoa Raspberry Pomegranate:

Cacoa nibs, frozen raspberries, pure pomegranate powder, pasteurized liquid egg white, vanilla whey protein powder, ice.

    Banana Peach Cobbler:

Frozen banana, fresh sliced peaches, 1 graham cracker, pasteurized liquid egg white, vanilla whey protein powder, ice.

    Chocolate Blueberry Truffle:

Cacoa nibs, frozen blueberries, pure acai powder, pasteurized liquid egg white, vanilla whey protein powder, ice.

Other stuff I've tried without photographing:

"Peanut Butter & Banana" - Peanut butter, frozen banana, etc.
"Green Tea" - Kale, diet Arizona green ice tea, etc.

I blend about 3 pints, a full carafe, with 3-3.5 scoops of protein powder and divide the other two thirds into two 1 pint tupperware containers and freeze. What comes out of the freezer the next two days is even more like ice cream than the soft-serve consistency pictured above. Each of the 3 servings have about 45 grams of protein. A roughly equivalent caloric alternative might be 150 calorie per pint "Arctic Zero" but that's $5 a pint and only about 14 grams of protein

If you plan ahead and freeze everything you'll get something like a milkshake. I keep frozen in the freezer bananas, carnation evaporated milk, and fruit (from the frozen fruit section at the store). The evaporated milk is in 1/2 cup plastic reusable bowls, about 3 per can. Canned Thai coconut milk can be substituted for the evaporated milk.

Eagermuscle, that stuff looks delicious. I've heard of non-dairy ice cream but can't seem to find it at the store...

Now there's an idea - maybe I'll top my ice cream off with Walden Farms zero calorie chocolate syrup. In fact I just checked the Walden website and they now have a 0 calorie caramel syrup and marshmallow dip!

This is easily one of my favorite threads yet. Beat out only by RadRTT's Love thread and any of the bacon threads.
