    EVER???

They fight among themselves, introduce & support bills with self serving, tacked on ammendments that they know don't have a snowball's chance in hell of being passed, go OUT of their way to be childish, immature and self absorbed, openly block and fight the President at every oppertunity possible....

The vast majority of Congress appear to be out for their own selfish interests only. They seem to have quickly forgotten that they are SERVANTS of the American voter....NOT the other way around.

    GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He can think and type!! Wow!! Good for you!!

To answer your question, congress has been like this for decades. Disappointing, I know, but it's better than a dictatorship. Until a real leader (very rare indeed) comes along, it will always be like this.

It is the will of the people to have a house divided. If it was not divided then we would move to one extreme or the other and neither extreme is good for anyone.

More left wing propaganda. And, I'd prefer nothing gets done than they continue to tax and spend us to oblivion, and approve incompetent judges and czars and advisors. It will happen eventually anyway, but at least it could be put off for a while. I listened to the president's Sat morning radio address, and it was straight out of the liberal handbook, a simple appeal to people's emotions, ending wth the old saw, that tiresome "for the children". I wasn't surprised by this, I was surprise because I thought he could do a lot better than that. Maybe the Alinsky zealots are running out of ideas?

Yes. The Congress that impeached Clinton and the Congresses that preceded the Civil War both qualify.

I dunno, this Daily Caller article raises many of the same points, and I wouldn't call the Daily Caller left wing propaganda.

And I thought we were talking about Congress?

"Unpopular" is not necessarily a bad thing. Doing what news media outlets say is popular or not because of what fits their obvious agenda can, and usually is, a bad thing. In my experience, the best leaders are seldom popular.

But being unpopular does not mean that they're competent.

    This congress is not competent.

Obviously they are, because each party is succeeding at preventing their opponents from passing their agendas. It's better than a dictatorship, where no opposition ever has a chance. By design, the party that can convince the most people that it is right and the opponent is wrong will eventually prevail. Think about it, the idea of checks and balances is a brilliant one.

Except when one party can give a rats ass what the public thinks
92% want Universal background checks on gun sales

Guess how many republicans voted for that on committee
