I'm 195lbs(125lbs being my lowest at the same height). Biggest I've ever even in my life. I'm excited but I know if I get a bit distracted I drop 20lbs in a month without even noticing. I also don't want to look absurdly big for my height and body type. What would be the recommended weight to cap at? 200lbs?

Great Job Charlitos, lookin good! I'm trying to make it down to 190 myself but I'm going backwards haha. I Think 200 would be perfect for you because of your height. My perfect would be about 190.

Have a great day and keep hittin in hard! icon_smile.gif

Agreed, what are you doing thus far? I'm gaining a lot of mass to by doing 4000 calories a day.
Also, idk, I think you could get to 210 and be a little chunk but only if you cut cut cut till you drop down to 190-195 lean as possible. Most guys I see with an amazing body at 5'10-5'11 weigh between 175-180 so at 6' i think perfect would be 190-195, aka where you're at now

And btw, I started at 125 too, now almost 160!

    Congrats you look awesome!

I've been trying to gain weight also, just found out a month ago, being 5'9 and 140 pounds with abs isn't really the body I was looking for. I looked like I just came out of a death camp lol

I'd stop where you are. At some point, I think forcing yourself to gain that much weight can be unnatural if it doesn't match up with your metabolism. The fact that you say you can drop 20lbs if you don't keep up with it tells me this is an unnatural weight for your particular metabolism. Plus, your metabolism will slow down as you age and then you might find yourself in trouble, as you've learned to eat this massive quantities of food. Just my two cents.

I thought you had the perfect body when you were lean. I don't have a role model anymore. I definitely dont want to be the typical 50 something 230 lb bear. I am down to 165. So easy to do dips at that weight.

I'm about to cross this threshold (again) hopefully for good this time. What was the key Charlitos, nutrition? Lifting routine? A combo? For me it's definitely what I eat.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think I will probably drop 5-10 pounds as I lean down and replace my diet with less carbs then stay there. For the record I was 170lbs 3 months ago and everyone(friends) thought I looked too skinny and sick, so now that Im around the 190lbs it makes me look healthier overall I just have to be careful with my metabolism cuz it works fast both ways, to gain and to lose. It just stops after 20lbs of gain or loss then it becomes really hard to gain any weight beyond those initial 20lbs if that makes sense. Thats why i went from 170lbs to 190lbs no time then it took me forever to gain 5 more pounds. Anyways thats the pattern I learned to notice through out my life.

I dont have any secrets, everyone is different when it comes to this so what worked for me might not work for someone else and viceversa. But overall working out makes me gain weight, if I dont work out I begin to lose weight. I believe is due to the fact that when I start working out my apetite increases(I need to eat every hour) but once I stop for lets say a couple of months then I can go the whole day on a single meal without even noticing.

Supplements wise, Ive tried, Creatine, Glutamine, Whey Protein and Pre-workouts. I have never tried anything else(steroids have always scared the shit out of me). Although besides protein shakes everything else is kinda of sporadic which is almost a waste of supplements but I just forget sometimes to take these stuff. This time Im trying to take creatine for about 2 months then stop and just stick to isolate protein and glutamine for fast muscle development and recovery as Im trying to lean down. Pre-workouts when Im trying to hit the gym after work, sometimes I need a boost otherwise Im on "fuck the gym" mode.

My diet is all over the place, I take it seriously when Im working out to lean down. When it comes to gain weight however I eat whatever, if there's healthy stuff to eat I go healthy, if not anything works from pizza to icecream. In other words if Im trying to gain weight i prefer to eat crap than not to eat at all.

Thats pretty much it. Oh and Im a fan of dips, I always do around 60-70 every day i go to gym, even on legs days.

That's funny, I'm also 195 at about 6' and can fluctuate 20 lbs in a month if I don't train (the other way). Looks better on you, though. icon_neutral.gif Lucky ectos.

Do what makes you happy, but don't get so obsessive about it to the point you can't stop thinking about how you look and worrying about how others perceive you based on your appearance.

I love got get feedback from different perspectives, I'm not working out to be 'happy' but to look good and have a healthier life style which can contribute to a happier life. That's why I'm open to any suggestions about what's too much or too little. It seems like most members agree that I should drop a few pounds so why not?
