Just got my new phone and already disappointed. I mean, it works well but the constant swiping is a pain in the ass. Plus no apps like Grindr, Jack'd or Manhunt.

I've been a Blackberry guy for years so I thought this would be a great next step in mobile communication but it missed the mark in so many ways.

Wow- that's kinda what I liked about the phone. I'm glad there isn't any grindr or the like. The Swiping is completely new for the platform. I quite enjoy it. It is very efficient in getting information I want when I want it. Now I'm faster on it then I was on any other device.

I purchased my BlackBerry Z10 two weeks ago(it launched in Lebanon like a month ago) and i absolutely love it
It works great and i much prefer it over what apple is offering
I upgraded from a. BB bold 9780 and i have a samsung galaxy S3 on the side
I like it more than the samsung too it's fresh and great in every way though the lack of apps is a bummer but keep in mind it's an entirely new OS built from the ground up so it's still young
They launched with 70000apps and they already have 100000apps now
It will improve blackberry will again be the leader just give it some time

You should have read the reviews before buying the phone, it's no big news that Blackberry has limited app selection icon_rolleyes.gif... with that said, grindr IS available on the BB App world.

Also, I doubt that Blackberry would ever become a major player at this point... it still is (and perceived as such) a niche device, and the big players of today's market are just way too big and powerful. Unless if they screw up majorly, which is possible but won't happen any time soon, BB will not be able to gain enough space in the market to become a major player.

Well, given that these services Manhunt, Jack'd, SCruff) are USA-centric and that the device is only just becoming available there now, it's hardly surprising.

I've actually sent emails to some of these companies in hope that they'll repackage their Android apps for Blackberry 10.

The phone is actually pretty good. The typing is far better than I originally thought and definitely better than the iPhone. The word flick thing is very cool and works well.

There are a few glitches that should be brought to BB's attention.

There's no cut, copy or paste function so you can't cut a paragraph out of one email and paste it in another. You also can't copy an email address to use it in another email. You'd have to save that as a contact in your address book THEN forward the email to the contact. That pretty much sucks big time.

The device comes with Facebook and Twitter already loaded but doesn't come with old Blackberry standbys like Password Keeper or QR reader. You have to find those in Blackberry World and download them.

When you get a new Facebook notification you actually get it twice. Once in Facebook but also in the new Blackberry HUB. Marking it read in one doesn't mark it read in the other.

I'm hopeful that Blackberry sees or hears these comments and improves these functions in the next updates.

The lack of grindr is precisely why I want one.

It's not that I WANT those apps it's that it's not even available, period. Even the older Blackberrys didn't have them. Ok Grindr was available but it was horrible.
