ok, there are certain songs or pieces of music that can make me so bursting with joy that i can hardly stand myself. but, hey - that's a whole lot better than the alternative, right?

anyway, i thought it'd be fun to share music that makes you so happy that your soul soars when you hear it. for some reason natasha bedingfield's "these words" is so clever, sweet, and ecstatic that it makes my eyes tear up (in a good way).

i can't embed the video for the song that i like, so here's the song with its lyrics:

To be honest, for me, there are quite a few and it changes...

But right now I'm luvin me some "Fire" from Donna Summer

and before you jump my shit, her "supposed gay bashing comments" where a hyped-up, out of context media interpetation that she corrected eons ago and appologized for even though the statements where not made by her.

    Fischerspooner- Emerge

    This one's a two parter...
a single video might make me lose my mind....

There are two (amongst many) that immediately come to mind.

"There must be an angel" The Eurythmics (I couldn't embed this so I put the link but I should point out that it is the music that I love - not this video)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeI9c9Uvlrs

The finale of "Suor Angelica" (Puccini) because it's so powerfully happy and sad at the same time.

I just realized that coincidentally and not by choice or preference, both of these have to do with angels.

I take RPM spin classes and in version 38, there's a song called "True Believer" by E-Type that really pumps me up. So, that'd be my "power song" I guess.

Alison Moyet - Love Resurrection & Ne Me Quitte Pas

    Madonna - Open Your Heart

    Prince - Purple Rain

Anita Baker - No More Tears

Trisha Yearwood's live version of How Do I Live

Stevie Nicks - Beauty and the Beast

Each one of these songs has brought me to tears more than once.

I like this Bollywood hit called Bheegi yaadein or Woh lamhe by Atif Aslam. Once it gets going it has a nice driving-with-the-top-down summertime sound.

Here's an English translation of the lyrics.
