My first semester in college I was homeless. Due to being weak I ended up dropping two classes. It made me feel like a failure too.

After that I ended up dropping one more, but I've picked up the pace, brought my GPA up, and am doing great now!

If you learn from it, then you should not be ashamed. Don't beat yourself up for something like this. Good luck!

    Nothing but a thing, Jellybean.

    Three maybe four.

Macro-economics: 6 hour class once a week on Sunday, started at 8 am.--what was I thinking.

Speech: got into a heated gay rights argument, 3rd day of class, with the homophobic bitch of an instructor--she doesn't have a job anymore.

Renaissance 14th-15th Century--needed the credit hours, thought it would be cool, till the instructor pulled me aside on the third day, asking where my 10 page theses statement was--note: never miss the first day of class.

Intro to Nursing--again an all out brawl with the homophobic bitch instructor (not same person) over OBAMA care--note: not all liberal schools are actually liberal.

Hang in there! I almost flunked out as well. I was on academic probation the first year of college. Two masters degrees and a PhD later I just laugh. We all go through some tough times. Just hang in there and keep trying.

Life is full of ups and downs. College prepares you for that as well as other things. You are not a failure. Grow from it and learn from it. That is all you can do right now.

In my second year of undergrad... I dropped early modern philosophy.... the course was impossible and professor made absolutely no sense. Wise move too because half the people I know who took it got Cs or less.

It's really not a big deal. People drop classes all the time.

The first class I dropped was a C++ programming class many years ago. During the first 5 minutes of the first class, the professor blurted out of nowhere that homosexuality was wrong, and it was a choice. Don't ask me what the flying fuck that has to do with computer programming. I immediately walked to the registrar's office and dropped the class.

Better to drop the class than do poorly in it. You can always take an extra class later on to make up for it.

Just make sure you do something to fill in the lost time or you will go crazy with boredom.

Yeah, I remember dropping an economics class once. After three weeks, the instructor hadn't actually said a damned thing. It was a complete waste of my time, so I withdrew. There was an anthropology class that was pretty much the same. Wasted a whole semester in there for about ten minutes worth of content. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have a dropped a few classes in my day. Not a big deal, just take it again. I strategically drop out of classes if I know I'll make anything below a B

I dropped calf this semester. A week in I knew I'd forgotten so much precalc I'd never do well in it. Going to take a refresher over the summer to set myself up though.

I was looking forward to a six course semester too.

I dropped an English Lit class during my 2nd year as an undergrad. I was reading the syllabus in class and the professor wanted us to read Moby Dick in 2 weeks. That was insane! I had 4 other classes and reading such a boring book would have driven me mad!

a vw is better than an F.

I've dropped more than a view, just due to not keeping up, or complete lack of interest. Just remember to only take as much as you can handle. and try and get things done earlier than later.

... Now I have to finish writing my 12 page paper. Uhg....

Just think of it as strategy, pick the right battles to fight. Your goal is to get a degree with good grades. Not to keep all your classes all the time.

I dropped one: Shakespeare. It was just a complete fiasco of a class.
