I wanna get a new phone, and I'm really looking into getting the Nokia Lumia 920 (Yes it's a Windows Phone 8. Don't hate.)
I went on the AT&T website and they have it refurbished for $10, and a new one is $100.
Should I take a chance and get a refurb? Or should I just play it safe and get a new one?

I know this is not a tech website, but whatever, I wanna know your perspective. icon_smile.gif

Generally I am ok with manufacturer refurbished stuff, as long as they look new and still has warranty. Make sure you look at it carefully to see if there's any visible damage.

    $10? I suppose it is on a 2 or 3 year contract?

Any of the big platforms nowadays (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Z10) have enough market to be sustainable for a while. As long the developers are making new apps for the platforms and users are buying them, they will probably all survive for the next few years. But who know what happens in a few years.

I've gotten a refurb phone from ATT before. The phone was practically new. I say go for it. Even if something is wrong with it, I believe there's a limited warranty period where you can return/exchange the phone. Or you can just sell it on Craigslist for more than $10 and make a little cash to apply to a different phone.
