Dante's Peak by a landslide. Volcano is so absurd that is almost painful to watch. I'm not even referring to the "volcano" itself but the miraculous measures they accomplished to save the day. I hate when movies go that route. I would have much rather seen a realistic depiction of the destruction and chaos as people just tried to survive and get out of the way...how it would actually go down.

    Both unwatchably stoopid.

Aside: I recall that in April and early May of 1980, hucksters were selling Tee-shirts that read "I Survived Mt. Saint Helens" from vans parked near the mountain. (Making fun of the people who were worried about the little earthquakes and steam bursts that had happened up to that point.) I sometimes wonder how many of the charred corpses buried under the ash are wearing the tattered remnants of those shirts.

Agreed. Volcano did not even have a volcano.

Dante's Peak. It was more...realistic? Volcano just smacked of all those dumb made-for-tv earthquake/tornado in New York movies that came out a few years ago (and the Atomic Twister...gotta love that one). Only with a slightly bigger budget.

Dante's Peak, because Pierce Brosnin's character's wife dies because lava flies into her head while they're driving from a volcano at the beginning. What a freaking way to go!

Dante's Peak - mainly for the absence of Tommy Lee Jones. Worst actor on the planet.

I vote Dante's peak but I find it especially hard when that poor grandma has to walk in the acid/water.

He who cannot cry at that is not human.
