Hello, I will be traveling to WDW 4/13-4/20 with family. I am out so there is not a problem with that. I am sure I will crave adult company and also I need Tennis, exercise buddy. I will be staying at a WDW resort-French Quarter.

Any tips for coping with saccharine infantil entertainment? I am a NYer who prefers authenticity.

I love roller coasters and wild rides. I want to play tennis, run, hit the gym too!

Is there a gay underground to WDW? when i went there in 2000 i met a sexy young french guy at the Epcot France pavilion. i hope grindr works there... icon_wink.gif

I did my internship at WDW in EPCOT and there is no "gay underground" because Disney is very open and accepting with their employees' sexual preferences. Unfortunately, most of the gay bars and clubs are in the downtown area but as for others things you want to do such as tennis and working out, you should not have any problems finding that on property.

I will be in Orlando that week too. Maybe I will see you on Grindr icon_smile.gif

We're planning to hit the new Harry Potter park too, so we'll be at both Universal and Disney World.

I'm going with friends, not family, so if you need some gays to hang out with, hit me up.

    Thanks guys!

I am skeptical so i assume there is a lot of clandestine activity under the veneers of WDW. i am not a going out of a passion for disney. i am going for the family fun vacation with my 5yo nephew who is one of the lights of my life. and those rare family moments with my sister, brother and father.

living in NYC i am used to a lot of stimulation and chance happenings, people watching, flirting and with lots of gay people around.

i guess i get a 'big brother' vibe from WDW so i dont feel like the great nyc street activity can happen.

although, in 2000 i met at cute french WDW worker at Epcot.

anyway, i definitely would love to find tennis buddies or other exercise buddies.

maybe grab a drink in the evening!

    thanks again!

i look forward to the warm weather and sun!!

the most fun i had anytime i've been to WDW is renting water mice ( small solo piloted motorboats ) with a bunch of friends and running all over the lake. You can rent them from most of the resorts but i think you can also rent them at the frontier campground, even if you're not staying on property.

it's a great break from all the pre programmed , track driven rides, you can literally go anywhere you want and it gives you a whole new view of the park.

also see if you can manage dinner atop the contemporary Aframe, outside on the patio while the fireworks display happens. yeah it's schlocky but at the same time, it's more adult and very well done.

Alas no, at least not from an employment standpoint. It's very easy to get fired at WDW so employees are on their best behavior while working. But once they clock out, it's a different story. I met so many people working at the World Showcase in EPCOT that hanging out with them was a blast. And I also got to hear and witness the clandestine activity you're referring to so it does exist....just not on Disney property.
