So I made a question regarding why so many gays dislike one direction and Justin Bieber and a user on this site sent me this message:

"Hey fucking bicth. How dare you to disrepect Justin Biever and One Direction music I love both and I think their music is great and you know what, why you just don't shoot yourself and get the fuck out this world..
    Piece of shit.."
I reported him and laughed. But then I ask questions and others continue to be rude and disrespectful giving me sarcastic answers that don't even benefit me.Why do i even bother asking questions on this site where there are so many people who abuse either me or others?Or maybe im just overreacting and everything im saying is a a bunch of crap.

I try to be friendly most of the time. Occasionally someone will say something that sets me off but not often.

Civility on the internet in general is an issue for some. The civility within a forum depends on its rules and how well they're moderated. RJ is fairly lax which I think for the most part is a good thing. I mean, otherwise, you don't know whether someone is being 'nice' because they are or just because they 'have to be' or they'd get banned. Some of the 'disrespect' is just kidding around, banter between online friends, or trolling to get a reaction. Some of it is just pure meanness. A 'safe' way for people to act out hostilities. Shit happens and some people aren't worth a crap.

The way I look at it, what someone says really says more about them than whoever they are speaking to. If someone irritates you too much, you can always click the "Ignore His Posts" link below their avatar and if they're emailing you, you can block them.

Beyond that, RJ is what you make of it. Hang out, find people you like and interact with them. The rest, well, as my old' man used to say, "pay'm no mind."

Of 1000 people who reply to you, let 999 members send a negative message to you from a simple sarcasm to most hateful speech,
But 1 good message is enough to make you feel better, bring some hope to you, make you feel supported, may answer what you are looking for with best possible suggestion or advice...

Ignore the useless 999 posts...That's what making life is about...(Take the good, discard the bad)

If they are rude, let them be...they're not gonna gain anything & you ain't gonna lose anything...

If anyone sees any stupid thread(stupid in either general or from their perspective) in RJ forums I just suggest them to ignore the post itself instead of insulting the person who started that thread!

This is hardly typical, nor is it acceptable. I doubt many people here would entertain such behaviour. RJ is no paragon of virtue, but its members do manage to be pretty civil most of the time.

When you have haters, that usually means your doing something right. In this case, looks like they just see you as someone to mess with.

Don't stop doing what you're doing just because there are a few mean people. Not all of us are rude, disrespecting and unfriendly.

All joking aside, the online world can be pretty rough. RealJock is no worse than others.

I find myself having to make a complaint to Admin about every 4-6 months or so. Mainly when guys slander me in my personal life.

My online life is fair game, and any opinions I state here. But when guys attack me personally to make their political points (that I'm alcoholic, a mental patient, a homophobe who's abused gays, etc, etc) then I do draw the line and report them.

So you aren't alone or being singled out. Welcome to RealJock, and Internet social networking in general. Jerks will be jerks. icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome to RealJock. The good people are here. And, so are the asshats.

Use the "Ignore His Posts" and "Block Him" features liberally as you encounter the asshats. It will make your RJ experience much more pleasant.

    Aloha and Be Well!

It's the internet bro... it doesn't matter where you go. Random people protected by a computer screen and probably hundreds of miles away being internet tough guys. So what it's words on a screen, who cares. Haters gonna hate. Trolls gonna troll.

You'll find that most people who send messages like do not actually care about the issue they bring up, they just feel an urgent need to be a contrary wasp to someone.

Also, by making a whole new thread about it, you've really just played into their hands icon_sad.gif

Just keep moving along OP. You'll eventually learn who the bitches are and learn to ignore them. Then there are the really cool guys and they make it worthwhile to be on this site.

The friendly people tend to spend less time on here than the rude & trolling people, because the friendly people actually have better things to do than spend their entire day on here icon_eek.gif

For real though, like others have said, you get the good and the bad whenever you're online in a social environment. Lots of awesome people around to outweigh the bad ones though.

So, you're hating on celebrities and their fans are upset with you??? Honestly, that's not even a real life problem. icon_confused.gif
