I bull dogged (steer wrestled) all through HS and at a couple of ametuer rodeos after that, then went to college and got busy. Just wonderin if there were any other doggers around?

This is the web-site for the North Star gay rodeo association. It is the Gay rodeo association of the Twin Cities. I have met several guys that belong to the group, they are extremely nice and have a great time.

HAHA, I hit up the gay bars in tight pants and a big buckle the other day, all the club kids looked at me like I was a freak, but the girls (real women) seemed to like it. Apparently guys say they want a masculine guy and don't know what to do when they see one.

Things were looking pretty silly (well, sillier than usual) in PDX after the "Brokeback Mountain" movie came out. Fortunately, the cowboy hat & shit-kickers (that never left the sidewalk) look didn't last long. The only sillier thing I saw was the time I visited Manhattan in the middle of the "grunge" fad and saw all the idiots walking around in brand new cork boots, jeans & starched flannel shirts.

Never quite got into the rodeo thing here. Yeah, I used to ride bulls. Well... one bull. When I used to bring the cows in for milking, he'd let me ride on his back.

I did some steer wrestling but w/out a horse--chute dogging--c/o IGRA gay rodeos. I never even considered it until I got into the country line dance & 2-step night at my local night club. I met these folks & went to a weekend training clinic. I was always terrible at it (see pic in profile!) but it was such a gas realizing I was doing it--starting it!--at the ripe old age of 48. Competed in IGRA rodeos for about 4 years. The whole gay country scene seems so much more sane than the cruising/dance/pose scene. (OK, I DO my share of posing as a cowboy, but it's not really the same, is it???) At the bars, people are DOING something & their personalities are out for all to see & enjoy. At the arenas, people are stretching themselves as HUMANS (many-a-girl were perpetual inspirations, too!). And the >>men<GEORGEOUS!
