BottomsUpMD saidNah, don't really find it gross... just as long as its not in MY bedroom hahaha.
I'll try doing some kegels...
I'm not a urologist, but I've had enough prostate infections and even cancer that I'm gonna suggest a possible answer, based on my own experiences.
If the prostate swells it can pinch the urethra which passes through it. This will prevent the bladder from emptying fully, and in severe cases can block urine flow completely.
Anal sex may be causing your prostate to swell enough to cause urethra blockage. You may also have been experiencing some prostate enlargement prior to this. Your bladder feels full because it IS full, or nearly so. But it won't empty because of the swollen prostate, or will only pass small amounts, because it takes increased bladder pressure to overcome the restriction through the prostate.
This is what causes men with enlarged prostates to visit the bathroom many times during the night - they're only emptying the bladder partway, so it becomes uncomfortably full again much more quickly, waking them up. Try this:
- Be sure to empty your bladder immediately before having anal sex.
- Try to refrain from drinking lots of fluid beforehand, especially beer or anything else that causes your bladder to fill quickly.
- Avoid liquids that can worsen prostate blockage. This varies in men, but can include beer, carbonated colas (I have that), and caffeinated drinks.
- Have your doctor do a DRE (digital rectal exam) to see if you already have an enlarged prostate, which anal sex makes worse. If so then get a referral to a urologist to determine the cause and possible cure.
