"...owner and operator of a [Chic-Fil-A] franchise in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif."

I think that's the operable word here: "franchise".

This reflects no pro-gay position from corporate HQ, nor the homophobic CEO Dan Cathy, and the attitude of any other franchises. Because despite the good intentions of this Rancho Cucamonga location, a portion of their profits still funds the anti-gay efforts of Cathy.

I hope I'll never choose cuisine over convictions, selfishness over selflessness. Let the homophobes enjoy their Chic-Fil-A - they invite an earlier death with every bite of that unhealthy crap. icon_twisted.gif

"cuisine" That's a bit of an overstatement. icon_wink.gif

Correct it's a franchisee, a small business owner exercising his free speech rights which may or may not agree with corporate. I don't see an issue with this, but I do try to stay away from this place and Cain's and Popeye's. I spend way too much time in the gym to ruin it all in 15 minutes.

I was trying to be alliterative. I agree, fast food can never be considered cuisine, except in the most general sense.

And fast food is poison. I eat it very seldom, always when I'm driving and pull off at an Interstate exit, looking for a place when I can refuel myself as quickly as I refuel the car. We never go near those places except when we're driving on a long trip. And even then we've marked out legitimate restaurants where we like to stop, along routes we regularly travel. Fast food is our last resort. icon_razz.gif

I did ChickFiLa on appreciation day and when I left to head up to the Ames Tri-Power Nationals figuring that it wouldn't be the last bad thing I would eat that weekend and it wasn't. And it did refuel me too so I could make noises icon_wink.gif all the way up there. Great in a big car like that where you have the room to lean a bit and expel on those vinyl seats. Much louder so I giggled my way all the way up there.

That appreciation day was an event to show opposition to gays. How can you be a member of RJ, when you always oppose gay civil rights & issues?

You hate gays, except for your own selfish sexual (and culinary) enjoyment. You take sexual pleasure from gays, but vote to continue our oppression and second-class status in the US. Please explain.

CFA are not traditional franchises. The "owner/operator" contract actually reads more like a complicated employment contract than a franchise contract. Very different than buying a typical fast food franchise.

I agree with you 100%. You avoiding Chickfila and other fast food poison parlors is very good, sound thinking. Just a couple bites of that poisoned, processed garbage could ruin a months hard work in the gym for anyone.

No it isn't. I've read plenty of franchise agreements and leases for just about anything and everything retail.

Despite all the goodwill expressed by all of us to Mr. Deco during his recent "stressful episode" he is once again on the offensive (in more than one sense). To state that an RJ member - who you have never met - "hates gays" is extreme, provocative and hate speech against said RJ member. This type of behavior should not be tolerated by the admin, nor should it be allowed to "let slide" by any RJ member reading this.

Look at the time of the evening he posted this. Might be due to ????

IMO two most commonly used words by the left are 'hate' and 'liar'. I don't hate anyone.

That's something I wouldn't know. If that's the case, is this California CFA owner gonna be in trouble with the corporation, for acting in a gay-friendly way in defiance of homophobic CEO Cathy?

I think that may be true about you. One of the reasons I get along with you better than southbeach1500. Not to mention our shared interest in classic cars.

Whose concern about my sick husband was a transparent ruse meant to make him look sympathetic. Considering how he violated my guy's privacy on this site in the past and then had his posts removed because of it by Admin, it was a rather sick joke.

It made me retch to see him expressing phony concern for my husband when he had done so much to hurt him in the past. But don't rely upon me - I'm sure others here will remember what he's done before to pain him, a way of getting at me, as will Admin.

The house gays who supported Hate-fil-A on their 'hate the gays' appreciation day must be furious at this owner. Sad when a Chick-fil-A owner is more supportive of gays than some gay people on this website.

Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but my concern was genuine - I can't imagine the stress and worry you went through, let alone the anxiety your husband was dealing with.

Too bad your "concern" for him didn't extend to revealing his name to the Internet community by posting it here when it wasn't yet known. Or my own full name, part of our address, and some of my banking information. All of which I had to request that Admin delete, as was done, with you getting suspended on a TOU/TOS violation. And that's fact, buddy.

Your "concern" for him & me is so touching. Just like you constantly referring to me as "Kolonel Koo Koo" and endlessly posting pics of Hyacinth Bucket to represent me. Well at least you finally got my rank correct, after mocking me with other lesser ranks, you who never earned the privilege of military rank yourself, yet feel entitled to ridicule my honorable 25-year military career.

No, you hurt my husband numerous times, and guys here witnessed it. To claim some concern for him now is ludicrous, a lame attempt to rehabilitate yourself, and make you appear a sympathetic character.

Well it won't work, and guys here who know you and your history won't permit it. I've had genuine expressions of concern for my husband, that have touched us both greatly. Your phony act is beyond insulting, both to me and to those here who have watched you over the years. Yet totally in keeping with your known character and track record.

You're an idiot. I don't see a leftie equivelent to WBC, but then you delusional rightwingers make up so much shit I don't even think you believe what oozes out of your mouth.

Art's point was well taken: your overt support (rubbing our noses in it even) of Chick-Fil-A on a gay site is trolling pretty hard. I don't actually get why a breeder like you even wants to be on a site like this. Leave any time you want. icon_rolleyes.gif

You're a perfect example of what I'm talking about, dipshit. So you think we're all WBC? Better take a real close look at your WBC buddy, Fred Phelps.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_phelps

"Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. (born November 13, 1929) is an American pastor heading the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), an independent Baptist church based in Topeka, Kansas. Phelps is a disbarred lawyer, founder of the Phelps Chartered law firm, and a former civil rights activist. A member of the Democratic Party, he has occasionally run for political office. In the election for United States Senator for Kansas in 1992, he received 49,416 votes (30.8%) in the Democratic primary, coming in second after Gloria O'Dell (who subsequently lost to later presidential candidate Bob Dole)."

I'm not sure I've seen anyone on this side of the aisle who has the capacity for hate and vitriol that so many of you lefties show on a daily basis. So go fuck yourself Dan and shove that hate up that rather loose ass of yours.

I don't think so. What there is in the franchise agreement is a restrictive covenant about closing on Sundays and not owning any other brand franchises.

I don't think his concern was a ruse and I do think it was genuine. Yeah, he teases and harasses you a bit, but you ought to stop hating, Bob, as it isn't good for you, and just eggs him on. Why don't you two make an attempt to meet up sometime? I bet if you did you could work your differences out or learn to disagree differently.
