Usually I’m busy-busy, but this week, my law school (which is Jewish) had today and tomorrow off for Sukkot. Having caught up on work… I actually took last night and today (Tuesday) off to play some old computer games.

It made me reminisce a bit since it’s been ages since I was really a gamer., and it got me wondering what some of your favorite games are. I see those threads every once in awhile about starting a guild on some MMO world, so I know you’re out there.

I really enjoyed the micromanagement, empire-building games, and growing up they formed the bulk of my gaming time. Civ II, MOO II, Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire, they were just great. But my favorite game of all time…

Baldur’s Gate II
Wow! Just wow. It was so immersive. I was never good at its battle system, but I managed to win once anyway. The down side is it permanently destroyed other RPGs for me, because they always pale in comparison.

So, what do you play? Or even, what are your most hated games?

Baldur's gate two is awesome. it has an extensive modding community as well. Much awesomeness for all involved.

Personally, I am a big fan of The Elderscrolls: Oblivion right now. I'm currently playing through the main quest, and wow is it awesome.

Starwars: Knights of the Old republic 2 IS great too. Bioware really gets characterization right

I am a fan of Kingdom Hearts. It is Final Fantasy meets Disney...yeah, I know, I am a dork, lol.
I also like Champions of Norath and Return to Arms(by the same company). It is an Everquest spin-off and is a great RPG in my opinion.

Final Fantasy fanatic here. Have played 1-12 and even played the online #11 for a few years.

I have always been a gamer and always will be. Mostly only play when I get home from work now (12am ouch).

Small list:
Fable
Knights of the old republic 1 and 2
Destroy All Humans 1 and 2
Tetris
Super Mario (any)
Pokemon (YES DAMNIT! I had to catch them all)
Big Brain Academy
Grand Theft Auto 3 and 4
Halo 1,2,and 3
Masters of Orion 1 and 2
Diablo 1 and 2
Wii Sports

Yea, that's only a small list. If I list it all I would only show my former videogame addiction, which also contributed to my poor physical condition. Thank god I don't play them as much as I used to.

Oh! Final Fantasy... I never played them myself, but in college senior year, my roommate had a playstation console and would play FF7. I liked watching him play, we would talk about his strategy and the plot elements while I ostensibly tried to do homework. >_<

Yeah, you have to keep it in line... today I'm back to the real world

But, it's interesting hearing about all these titles you guys like! Wow, I've been left behind, lol

Anyone have Warhammer online? I was thinking of getting it but don't know if I have the time with school,my RA job, and lifting. Anyone else play this? How long does it take to level? Hows the PVP?

Usually I am not good at video games. Although I love playing Civilization Beyond the Sword, build your empire up from nothing and go to war with everyone! It's great.

I have only played one game in my entire life pong. It was the first one those of you in your twenties...pong was the very first video game created by atari I think.

Most games todauy are way too violent for my taste.

I play Warhammer Online right now. It's an excellent game if you're into PvP. I've played WoW before and though there's a lot I love about WoW, i think the PvP system in Warhammer is better. The only reason why I quit WoW is because I don't know anyone else who plays so if someone plays here lemme know I also love Soul Caliber and I loved City of Heroes/Villians (one of the best games ever INMO).

I love video games but I just don't have the time to play right now.

Last game I got was Mario RPG on the wii virtual console, hardly played but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to get Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

(BTW BG2 rocks!)

HOLY SHIT!

LOL, I actually just picked up playing BG2: SoA/ToB again after finishing Far Cry (really awesome water effects, i wonder how it is in Crysis now or in Crysis 2) & Star Wars: Republic Commando..

I enjoy customizability/immersion factor most of all in games.

I've enjoyed:

Homeworld 1 & 2
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Icewind Dale II
Neverwinter Nights (not really, but at least it was DnD, the hordes of underdark expansion was the one i liked)
Master of Orion III
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Deus Ex: Invisible War
The original Halflife
Red Alert 2
The FF series
Grandia (kinda similar to FF, but with more animeish humor)
The two Zelda games i've played
Diablo II
Blood Omen
Operation Flashpoint
Demon Stone
No One Lives Forever (hilarious game, Team Fortress 2 seem to have copied it's quirky style from the NOLF series)

I'm really looking forward to being able to play Mass Effect, Crysis, The Witcher, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Fable 2 (two of my pro friends/coworkers in our mod made stuff for it... or was it Fable, I can't recall), but meh, PC can't handle it atm. Crysis especially is limiting it's player pool by being so goddamn high reqd!

I'm in Spellhold in BG2 now, and I can't find a way to defeat that Rakshasa, Ruhk, so I'm leaving him alone. :/ Plus Protection from Evil doesn't seem to make the Pit Fiend lose interest in me, hehe.

I'm still wondering if there is a way to make a gay romance in BG2. :/ A lesbian one is possible like in Mass Effect but seems like none of the male characters want to woo sexy moi. ROFL. Minsc is kinda cute. XD, but Valygar is hunky too bad he's such a fanatic against magic! Anomen is too erm... republican for my tastes.

P.S. if BG2 was your first DnD Forgotten Realms game, there are tons more out there. Greyhawk, Temple of Elemental Evil, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Balder's Gate I, Icewind Dale II (recommended, very similar to BG2 though smaller in comparison to BG2's sheer complexity).

P.P.S. I'm getting Neverwinter Nights 2, same world as BG2 - Faerun, I think it even happens in the Sword Coast if I'm not mistaken, along Waterdeep. I hope it's better than NWN (whose engine sucked! >.<)
