Battling Ropes - What do you think? Yes, No, Maybe? Why?

    Yes, used the ropes for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago. Not sure it's strength training but damn tiring.

    That's interesting. My gym has the rope, but I've never seen anyone mess with it.

    Those MMA fighters train with them all the time (at least on TV) so there's got to be something to them...right?

    Some exercises are great for your shoulders. I'd tried them and agree that they are really exhausting.

    Here's a clip of the ropes in use in a gym. Illustrating why they may not be so popular there, since here they're blocking use of several pieces of other equipment, as well as the weight rack and much of the floor.

    It looks like another exercise fad and a fairly awkward one at that.
