With lifting, if I want to change my look, I stop, or eat less, etc. Fucking yourself up with tattoos, I think, is an ugly thing that detracts from the human body itself. I know all the sales pitch from the inked crowd, but, it's nothing that I'd ever do. It's too permanent (I mean...most folks evolve as they get older.). It often looks like crap, and can very much keep you from making a really good living. When is the last time you saw a guy in a six figure job with fucked up ears?
One, or two, tattoos, I give folks the benefit of the doubt for stupid mistakes, but, when it's everywhere, then, I think, it speaks to deeper psychological issues with regard to self esteem and the actual cutting ritual.
I had diamond studs in both ears for years. I took them out a few years ago, with the feeling that: 1. If I wanted to put them back in, I could. 2. I wanted to project a more professional look that directed attention to my face, as opposed to my ears.
