Do you believe men can be so turned on by someone else that they literally can't control themselves?

This gets discussed a lot in the debate about America's supposed "rape culture". Feminists are up in arms that men try to some how justify rape against women because some men feel so aroused that they fall prey to presumed animalistic instincts. As though there is a certain threshold, and when the line is crossed, men literally cannot help what they do.

I can see how someone's judgment becomes impaired after drinking or using certain drugs or medications, but I should think a sober mind would always feel a sense of self-control. Maybe some men know they have this control, but they will not admit it and simply confabulate and attempt to negate their guilt through declaring it involuntary behavior.

With that, do you think we could potentially really lose it when we see someone so hot and attractive?

Their mind is fucked up that's why they rape, there is no control mechanism, no reason that's why it's not understandable. Something is missing

    not so ridiculous.
If it were, strip clubs and Go Go bars wouldn't have massive bouncers.
I'm sure there are a few guys on here that could attest to the value of bar tender that has their back.
I sure could have used a bouncer at a hotel hot tub, 20 years ago.

i've occasionally met a guy who was that hot, or been in the same room with one. I guess I'm a bit starved for hot guys (i just don't run across them but once every few months) but it usually happens when i'm going through an extra-horny week and i just have to get out of there as fast as possible

you're not a feminist because you're a woman who thinks men should be able to know raping people is bad. the fact that you can even write that sentence shows how little you understand of what it is like to be a woman.

Only "feminists" discount the uncontrollable-urge explanation for rape? I thought just about everyone discounted that explanation. Researchers more commonly attribute rape to the quest for power, acting out of anger, and sadistic gratification. As it is so easy to find porn, rent a prostitute, or wack-off, the need for sexual satisfaction cannot possibly explain rape.

In proper society you're only allowed to rape others of their dignity.

    Is this a joke?

No. Stop trying to justify not having self-control.

I think you can, and seriously no laughing joke. my second boyfriend almost tried to do it to me, I told him at the beginning of the relationship that i'm saving myself for the right guy, told him not saying he couldn't be that right guy but I wanted to wait to find out. He agreed, after a month of dating, we were laying on the couch, we kissed, but then his kissing got super aggressive, he forced me out of my shirt, and jeans. It wasn't until I was crying uncontrollably that he snapped out of his spell. It was seriously the most terrifying thing I encountered.

No, of course it's not a joke. Rapist aren't "horny guys," they're mentally ill people. Guys don't tend to rape other guys because 1) another guy is not perceived as a weak victim, and 2) rape is not about sexual desire vs self-control; it's about having anti-social emotional urges, just as child molesters (gay or straight)!

The first thing that comes to mind was, "absolutely preposterous." I can't imagine any logical justification for a prudent and reasonable man to "not be able to control themselves." It's not an accident that you willingly worked in someone's life and took an advantage of them. Unless you are under alcohol or other substances that can make you lose your mind, then you know fully well what you are doing. I can't believe it's even being discussed. I'm appalled that this is gaining attention. I to some extent find it humorous, but it looses that when you think more in depth into it

If your penis head has more control than your actual head I'd classify you as a sexual predator

There was this guy from Uruguay who was here studying a few years back. I saw him online on a gay 'dating' site and talked to him on there and on msn messenger. Whenever I saw him in person though I just got super flustered and my adrenaline kicked in so bad I could barely even talk to him. icon_redface.gif
