It would be great if it were somebody in my area, because I need to make a real (gay male) friend who I can be with, talk to, and just...be with.....in person.

It hurts every day....don't want the rest of my life to be that way.....

What yourname said. You're living in a city of over 100,000 people and you can't find anyone to talk to? I think your standards might be a bit high.

Also try using fewer ellipses. I hate reading anything that makes it seem like it was dictated from someone who was taking their last gasping breaths.

I've made some good friends with those groups. At the very least you meet people with similar interests. Not the same as meeting people at bars/lounges. I live in NYC and find it hard to connect with people here. Turns out that when you're sober people don't know what to talk to you about. icon_eek.gif

    Indeed.
I joined Meetup and the "Out and Out" club when I lived in Toronto, made life long "real" friendships with similar interests and outlook on life.
Now that I'm living up north, far from a major metropolitan city, I still remain in close contact with these fine folk and they visit often.
Since moving away, I made an effort to participate in groups and organizations in and around my new town, I now have a new circle of friends to enjoy "country life" with!
Ya gotta put yourself out there.
