    You GO, EJ3! icon_biggrin.gif

TMZMagic Johnson's 20-year-old son hit the Sunset Strip, hand in hand with his boyfriend ... and his parents couldn't be happier for their kid.

Earvin Johnson III -- aka EJ -- is one of Magic's 3 kids. The Lakers legend tells TMZ, "Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way." Magic goes on, "We're very proud of him."

The feeling is mutual ... 'cause EJ told us he's been "hoping and praying" for his dad's team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, ever since Magic and his business partners took over the franchise.

He's also a huge Lakers fan ... obviously.

EJ -- who's a student at NYU -- has a close relationship with his parents. Back in August, Magic tweeted, "Thx to my son EJ for hosting me at NYU. Look forward to taking him to dinner tonight in the city."

Not surprising that Magic has a gay son, but, hmm. An effeminate son? That does surprise me. And a fat son? Come on, boy! Get it together!

I caught that! icon_lol.gif He's in for a BIG disappointment this season! icon_razz.gif

Young man's just 20, so hopefully he'll get motivated to work some of that off. I'm guessing there'll be a Celebrity Biggest Loser appearance in the works in the coming years.

In the meantime, hopefully his studies are going well at NYU!

I was going with the Robert Smith vibe. Not sure if he's a Cure fan, though. icon_smile.gif

I also want to add that someone else deserves some praise.

As magnificent and influential as Magic has been, his wife Cookie deserves just as much credit. One of the most influential persons of the 1990s in my opinion was Cookie Johnson. Way to stand by your man, Cookie! AND by your son! icon_biggrin.gif

Off topic but some of the Youtube comments are hilarious for the video.

"This is why black men should boycott black women and stop having kids with them. your kids will grow up to be either gay or thugs. black men are more successful with´╗┐ women of other races"

    WTF ??!! icon_lol.gif

He reminds me of a young ALT and I think he's fab icon_biggrin.gif

This is nice and all but the gay part of my brain thinks "damn dude, you probably grew up with a dad who knew all about fitness and nutrition and you turn out like THAT?" I mean if I grew up around an athletic dad and knew everything he knew about health and fitness I would have been totally ripped by now.

Anyways it's good he has support.

I don't know, but I'm suspecting some kids sharing the name of a famous (and infamous) athlete father may try to be the polar opposites of their namesakes to establish some sense of individualism. Often the pressure to live up to being the NEXT *famous name* is not all it's cracked up to be. (See Tim Hardaway, Jr., in high school)

Ok. So to differentiate myself from my total hunk of a fit dad I'm gonna be 100 lbs heavier in a community where fitness is next to godliness?

The skinny white guy on his arm probably isn't even his bf but a close friend.

Maybe. Neither of us are in his shoes. He might also try to put on protection to differentiate himself, and that's fine, too.

The fur makes him godly enough. The town embraces Cee-Lo Green, so there's enough room in the "community" of LA.

Is the "close friend" clarification on TMZ? I haven't checked for an update/correction since they posted the vid this morning.

This was supposed to be for the duplicate thread but it disappeared while I was positioning the text so I'm posting it here anyway. So there!

He might also just not give a fuck, not look to others for validation of his physical appearance, and not suffer from the body dysmorphia afflicting a huge chunk of the gay community, including yours truly.

    Good for him.
