    This is really great news. Sure, he's only the second Republican congressman to come out in support of marriage equality, but it has to start somewhere. Hopefully, the moderates in that party will become more vocal.

    Look, I feel like a heel for saying this openly, but Kirk has long been rumored to be homosexual, although he's in his 50s he was married for a total of like 2 years -- to his secretary just before kicking off his campaign, and he pings my gaydar big time. Frankly, if he's another Koch who's terrified of being outed, he made the safe choice because otherwise journalists would finally have had the right to "out" him as a hypocrite.

    If, against the odds, he's a straight senator who just can't score a date, I apologize, especially because he just recovered from a stroke.

    Not that it means anything one way or the other, but he was married 8 years to a chick he met in navy ... not his secretary.
