That Akward Moment When...

Just yesterday, I caught up with some of my friends at a Restaraunt. I was running late and all of my friends were there already, so I came in last. As I I opened the door, I seemed to have caught the attention of a group of men who all stared at me as I walked past their table (I felt horribly awkward, as none of them even smiled at me and they all seemed to look in my way and it felt as if I was being talked about...and it didn't help that they were a table with some incredibly good looking men so I dared not to make too much eye contact).

I recognised one of them and even knew of him but he has no idea I even exist, but he kept staring at me the entire evening (a point my girl mate pointed out at various stages of the evening, but every time I looked at him he glanced away...our table was even completely opposite their table but on the other end from where their table was based so I was in good view of their table and they had good view of me). Anyway, has anyone ever experienced something similar? A group of gay men all staring at you but in such a way that is negative (like they could be dishing about you)...

They could be jealous too, call them out on it let them you noticed them looking and wondered if there was a problem or something you could do for them or tell them to take a picture it last longer.

Are you sure they were looking at you? I had a similar experience but I found out that the guys were looking at the ugly painting above of where I was sitting.

    hahaha! icon_lol.gif

If they were looking at you or not. I would just looked at them back. If they are doing it, why can't I? and I would make it obvious i'm looking at them too.

I saw them looking at me right from I walked in at the door. Though you could be right, I'm thinking it may have been the pants I wore. Still, not enough of a reason to have someone really stare you down.

What kind of pants were you wearing? If you looked good in them, then that's why they were staring. They were probably jealous too! icon_biggrin.gif

But seriously, if it was your pants they were looking at, perhaps they were trying to figure out what kind they were and those guys didn't have enough balls to ask you.

That just happened tonight at our university bar. Walked in the door with my female roommate and just got stared down by like 3 tables, from the door right to where we decided to sit. Wtf are some guys problem?? My friend asked if I knew them and I had never seen any of them before in my life. None of them came over, even when I left our table to grab some beers from the bar, even when I came back with the beers I just got stared down again. They weren't hostile looks but they might as well been.

Yes, I got stared down at a resturant by a couple guys. Only an hour into being there did one of them approach me when I was outside finishing a phone call. He told me his friend thinks I am cute and they didn't know if I were straight or gay. Good thing I am gay, turned out to be really good friends with some benefits. icon_biggrin.gif

Do you think it might be something as innocent as the guy who you recognized trying to figure out how he knows you? You also might look like someone they knew. I know, I am so naive!!

never could figure out why people looking at you bothers people...just assume you are awesome and your mere presence brings joy to the world...um right after you check if you fly is done up...(or down depending on your environment)

Did you go to the restaurant because of how some semi-random people would react to you?

If not, then who cares. You were there for your friends...why pay so much attention to some other people??

Yep happened to me one time a restaurant. I was at a burger joint with my buddy and there were these two couples sitting diagonally from our table. The guy facing me kept on looking at me and at one point I was about to take a bite and saw that he was staring at me. I almost dropped my sandwich. After 20 mins of him looking at me and me feeling awkward he finally said that looks delicious what is it. Then he ordered that sandwich. I still have no idea what happened that night lol.
