My thanks for all the RJ forum and private expressions of concern for my husband that are still pouring in. He continues to do exceptionally well, way ahead of the curve, still an overachiever.

Tonight he wanted spaghetti & meatballs, which he's not prevented from having, but that I wouldn't dare attempt to cook myself. So I went to an Italian restaurant for a take-out.

While it was being prepared I went next door to a lesbian bar, to update the owner and our other friends there about his condition. This is the same bar, BTW, for which I got crucified online here over a disabled parking spot dispute. Strange I'm still welcome there.

Then I returned to the Italian restaurant and the owner refused to take my money. The meal a gift for my husband, including soup & rolls. Plus they hand drew a get-well card for him while I was in the lesbian bar, the front cover shown below. Since his name has already been revealed here I won't try to obscure it.

Several local restaurants have now given him free meals since he's come home from the hospital. This is how much he's loved & admired. More than the value of the food is the good will being expressed that is helping in his recovery.

He just beams when I tell him all the expressions of concern he's getting throughout our community. More important to him than you might imagine.

His homophobic late Father cursed him for being a loser faggot who would never amount to anything. I know it affects him more than he will admit, so I try to counteract it as much as I can. But of course I can't create the community love for him that's he's earned himself, merely hype it for him a bit. icon_wink.gif

So I was kinda overwhelmed once again today with all the expressions of love & concern for him wherever I went. And I've been telling him about the many kind words you guys here are sending him. icon_biggrin.gif

That is really fantastic news to hear, Bob. Glad the recovery is going better than expected. But suffice to say that you still need to make sure he is not going to over do it and that you will also take time for yourself going forward.

Thank you for keeping us up to date about both of you!
