..because I've seen so many topics about guys who are experiencing heartbreak.

Look, we're guys, and guys have hearts, and they get broken, but here's an allegorical angle on those hearts of ours and what they can do.

In the back of Mom's acreage, down where the creek runs through it is a fir tree, massive and towering, At it's base in the giant surge of tree truck rising from its tangle of exposed roots there is a bucket. Someone had nailed it to the tree, long ago, and walked off.

When Mom and Dad bought the property, the bucket was sticking out at an angle, the tree trunk slowly absorbing this foreign object that had been hammered into it.

Just recently, visiting Mom, we noticed the bucket has been swallowed whole into the side of the tree, which has become larger, making the bucket smaller and that much more insignificant.

Something to remember when someone hurts you, like nailing a bucket to your side, eh?

thinking kindly about some of the men of RJ going through this,

    A powerful analogy.

There are times when we nail the bucket to our own side then lament to anyone who's listening; "Hey! I got this bucket stuck to my side!".... 'How'd this bucket get here?!"

Either way, we all live with a "bucket" attached to ourselves.
Empathy and kindness always make the bucket easier to bare.

    *winks @ Gord*

The tree, like our hearts can be if we try, was focused on its growth and the impediment of the bucket became insignificant over time as the tree absorbed it and made it part of its History rather than its Present. So can we in this way accept the bad that happens and make it part of our history rather than our present or future.

Another analogy is an oyster or a conch and how they make a pearl from an irritation. icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif

That coal will turn into a diamond with pressure. Try sitting on it - but fully dressed or it may go somewhere unexpected! =O

..thanks for the compliment, eh? icon_redface.gif
