I am considering accepting a job in Boston/Medford area. Any thoughts/comments on areas to live? gyms? etc.

    Any help is welcomed.

Medford is outside metro Boston. It's a great place, and I love it; but I'd live closer to the city so you can absorb everything it has to offer. Live close to the T.

Boston is a great city but can be expensive.

College town with lots of history. Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Boston University, Boston College, Tufts, Babson and scores of other colleges as well.

Lots of gyms in the area. You can join a chain (Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, Crossfit) and/or YMCA's. Local places as well.

There is a rugby team here called Boston Ironsides that is gay friendly( well actually straight friendly)

Lots of outdoor activities that change from season to season...skiing/snowboarding in the winter months to windsurfing in the summer months. Great Beaches on Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

Gay friendly town....can get married in Massachusetts. (and now divorced!)

Provincetown is on Cape Cod ( I will be there for Bear Week 2013)

Patriots, Celtics. Bruins, Red Sox, Revolution(soccer)

    World Class medical

    Lively theatre and arts

    Great restaurants.

Providence RI is just to our south and New York City is just further down the road.

Boston is a fun vibrant city and Medford is a suburb of Boston but so close its considered part of the city. Lots of options to get into the city (public transportation or by car- 10 minutes with no traffic)

I love boston....I miss new england as a whole. I use to live in Providence, RI. It's a beautiful city, I would go back there in a heartbeat if my family wasn't here in Buffalo.
