Says the guy who condescends another Soldier (me) in the forums because he (you) is so highly ranked, anyone lower ranking (me) couldn't possibly know what they are talking about. I already brought this to your attention (it was a time ago) and you never apologized for it. And don't start now, the absence of one already burned that bridge.

I believe I do remember it. You offered some mistaken junior soldier's view of an issue, and I corrected you. The correction offended you.

Your job was to acknowledge the correction, and learn from it, since you were still on active duty. Apparently you did not.

Now you are a civilian, and can say anything you like (as can I). But that doesn't change the fact that I'm a retired Colonel, and you are not, nor ever will be.

(Or is it Major, or Lieutenant Colonel, or just Lieutenant? I really don't know, SB has insisted over the years that each of those are my ranks, it really gets confusing. Except when my pension check arrives. icon_biggrin.gif )

I've encountered your rank-envy & resentment before. I was enlisted and a Sergeant myself. I counted my prior enlisted service as one of my strengths when I became a commissioned officer. Few Officers were as protective of enlisted soldiers as I was, because I had been one, sometimes to my professional disadvantage, when I was perceived as too friendly to enlisted.

Had you served in one of my commands you would have known that. But of course that's all talk, and I know you're determined not to be persuaded. So be it.

Wow this entire post is just uncool and disgusting. I am sure some of your fellow Colonel, would be disappointed in you right now.

RadRTT said@ArtDeco- Why do you go into such detail when writing responses? I mean I think I speak for RJ, in that, we do not care about all those details. icon_neutral.gif

I post details for those who like to read details. I get private emails complimenting my detailed stories all the time.

If you don't like details then skip over my posts. If you can't write details, then don't attempt them yourself. I can, and I do.

So that you don't speak for RJ at all. What pretentiousness! A few here, perhaps, mostly young kids who can't read anything longer than a text message, but not all.

@Rad: I know. My sister and my cousin both went through the Naval Academy and are officers in the Marines and Navy, respectively. No matter what, they never treat enlisted men without courtesy and respect.

Aristoshark saidI think Art's issues are possibly the resuit of some kind of organic brain syndrome. Perhaps he's had a few strokes and doesn't know it? It would explain the lack of self-control.

No need to speculate on that which we cannot know. Attack what he says instead. It's more than easy.

I've never been in the military but I had a friend who never came home from Iraq. He was what you'd call a "junior soldier". This is so offensive on so many levels that I hope you think better of it and just admit this went too far. I know you're better than this.

Trollileo saidAnd why the fuck is it pronounced kernel?

That's an English convention. Colonel is pronounced differently in French (where it apparently originated, meaning an Officer in charge of a marching column). The English also pronounce Lieutenant differently from Americans, making it "Left-tenant". You figure out how that can be.

I remember when I went to a post laundry service in 1973, to get my uniforms. A counter clerk, apparently French, was calling to me: "Loo-ten-naunt! Loo-ten-naunt!" I wasn't responding, until somebody poked me.

"Yuu must be a veery nuu Lootenaunt," she said, "Because you do naut hear your nayme!"

Well, OK, I've been called Lieutenant for quite a while, but never "Loo-ten-naut". So I got to learn how the French pronounce it.

And with that you have just solidified your reputation as a genuinely bad person with few, if any redeeming qualities.

This is why I fight so hard against your attempts to represent my people, but that seems so trivial now. If I were American (and I am a citizen, and my sister and cousin are serving) I wouldn't want you representing the freedom of America. I dread to think what those brave men and women under you endured.

Okay, people, let's get back to the topic (horrible food, pizza and deep-fried, butter flavored, butter) and talk about what really matters in life -- mainly, fat chicks deep frying Twinkies and everything that isn't tied down.

I think your problem is you are so defensive that you have started lashing out at people that want to be on your side. Why threaten Coach Mike? He disputed your comments respectfully and you threaten him? I think you should be reported for bullying. icon_rolleyes.gif
