why do they have to talk down to you, making you feel bad. When you clearly are just asking questions about what you want to understand?
Is asking questions about what you don't understand wrong?
Or does it just upset these people so much that have to be hateful???
I have a thick skin, but it was only a question. I don't get it, what makes them so much better than me????
What is so bad about wanting to know things? Asking questions?

Tell me, who was it, that upset you?

I know the feeling. They just think they're better than you. That's why they do that.

Don't let it get to you.

Nothing is wrong about asking for information, but sometimes people post forum topics that are pretty insulting and set other people off. I am not saying that you have done this KyleBelfast, but I can think of a few recently that were pretty inflammatory (especially the political ones).

What I would recommend is sending a personal e-mail to people you think would be respectful and helpful instead of posting a general forum topic.

I have received several from people asking about my experiences with HIV and I have been happy to reply to them.

Thank you swim for the compliments.

Kyle, swim is not so bad when you get to know him icon_wink.gif

I got pissed off with him too at the start, but we get along now (I think icon_smile.gif)

Obviously we don't agree on some things, but we get along.

    Give it another try.

If he quacks, that's a good sign icon_razz.gif

Hmm. When someone tries to make me feel bad or look stupid, I usually assume it's because they're insecure.

    Especially the loud ones.

I think when anyone asks an honest question they deserve an honest answer. People with smartass answers should go look for a smartass question and apply their talents there!

It is so easy to hurt others; I'm reminded of this daily. As for asking questions, it is all about the context for me. When I know where someone is coming from, I'm more apt to listen and respond with some compassion. I'm not perfect and I've been (sometimes am) guilty of answering questions to sound witty and impressive. But for me, when I'm asked a question and know their "clear" motivations, it is extremely difficult to feel hate toward that individual, unless, however, they're "clearly" motivated to piss me off.

If you're so disgruntled and frustrated about who they ARE (or rather how you perceive them) and you let "them" get to you then of course they've won. I wouldn't stress it. If he/she/they aren't paying your bills or contributing anything substantial to your life in any way then why worry about it?

Did we ever confirm whether or not the death of Kyle was a hoax or an actuality?

Nope, and now the topic has been removed (thankfully). I gave Kyle the benefit of the doubt for now.
