It does seem the charges are a bit light for this. If a straight man did this to a woman, of any age, wouldn't kidnapping or some version of felony unlawful confinement/restraint be included? Terrorizing, perhaps? Misdemeanor
Either he's getting preferential treatment, or it shows a lack of concern for crimes against gays. The only thing that councilman who was mentioned seems upset about is the use of a police car to transport the victim to the Mayor's house. I guess if the Mayor had used his own car it would have all been OK???
And how was the Mayor able to dispose of all the guns he owns? Shouldn't they have been seized as EVIDENCE? What kind of police work is that? Didn't the police or neighbors hear shots fired? Was the police report filed before or after the guns were promptly sold? And where are they now? Isn't it also illegal to dispose of evidence, a crime in itself? Oh, right, the Mayor runs the police department in that borough.
