Looks like it will slide right off or get stuck in a man's ass.

I discovered years ago that a loose-fitting condom, that allows motion inside it, was more pleasurable for me that a tight fit. The old natural skins could do that, but were fragile, and permeable to HIV. Lately the major manufacturers have been making "light bulb shaped" latex condoms that give that loose sensation, being only tight at the base to prevent slipping off.

This seems like a variation on that idea. It's not clear how well it grips at the base to prevent slip-off, as TheBizMan wonders. They claim to be stronger than latex, so that can be of interest to gay men. But how well will they block HIV, which is very small, and has been a concern for other synthetic materials?

Here's the anal version. I lost the sound at the very end of the video, not sure if my computer.

ArticleThe company has also created the first condom to be designed exclusively for use in anal intercourse, Resnic said. These designs are also going through clinical testing.

I think this is more interesting news...

Interesting. Anyone use one of these yet? I've never seen or heard of them. Are they available on the market? Seems like it would be fun to try.

I think this is a promising, incredible development in sexual health. Conventional condoms are annoying, either too tight or to slack. And experiencing either is terrifying. "will it break ", "will I slip out". It might take years to hit the market, but I'm hopeful.

It's just the male version of the female condom that's been out since forever.

Maybe it depends on which partner wants or needs the most stimulation. I would think the anal condom would give the top the best and most natural experience, while a standard condom would stimulate the bottom the most. Plus the bottom could reach down & feel the anal condom ring at any time and be assured he was still protected. Other than that, I dunno.

A development within the last few years has been the "light bulb" shape, that's loose for movement inside, but still snug at the base for security. Does some of the things the Origami claims. You'll notice, like the Origami, it doesn't have a receptacle tip, because it doesn't need one, being completely loose at the head.

$7 per condom would be fine if you only have sex a few times a year.

But for most people the cost would be prohibitive.

The base for all of those should be wider, I think, the plastic circle that protects the condom from getting stuck inside the orifice. The demonstration with the female condom and the dildo makes it look like if the penis is still drippy when he pulls out, the sperm might accidentally sneak into from the sides. There wasn't a similar demonstration with the male condom for me to see if that's true for the anal condom as well. The video posted above only shows a cartoon demo of how to use the condom.

Trial of game changing new anal condom begins in Boston

A revolutionary anal condom that simulates condom free sex is being trailed in Boston by the US National Institutes of Health in the hopes of encouraging more people to engage in safer sex
