I started CrossFit a couple of months ago and totally love it. I've been using an old beat up pair of tennis shoes but now I'm ready to get the best footwear possible to give my workouts a little edge. I just bought these and love them, but they're not the most versatile CrossFit shoe. They're more of a lifting shoe which is great for heavy lifting days, but I'd also like something to wear when running and box jump, etc. is the meat of the workout. Any of you seasoned CrossFitters have any recommendations for my main shoe?

Just go with the Reebok nanos. They are coming out with the newest generation soon so the older ones, which work great, will be going down in proce.

Check out Inov8s....they make several shoes specifically for crossfit. Also, get on theclymb.com as they run incredible deals on Inov8s as well as other athletic clothes and shoes...great site. I just bought the Bare-XF260 which are specifically for CF, including rope climbing and they are awesome...

I was told they run kind of narrow and considering I have a wide foot, I'm afraid to order those.

My foot is pretty wide....actually flat foot..and they work fine..They do run small..I wear a 10.5 usually and wear an 11.5 in those. The XF 260 are pretty wide and have velcro straps to make as tight as you want.

Can you buy those in stores or strictly online?

Some stores do carry them, but probably not all the different versions b/c there are many. Go on their website and it might indicate where you can go locally. I know a couple stores here where I live carry them. Most likely be at specialty running type store.

I have wide/big feet and find the Innov8s to be really uncomfortable. The Nanos are good but I think the upper is a little too squishy so I feel like my foot moves around too much in them. I do wear them as a casual shoe though. For workouts, I wear New Balance Minimus. I've had them for over a year and they're still great. I don't wear them for heavy lifts though. For that I wear the same Reeboks that you bought. I like them okay but have found that they're getting a little flexible and not as good a platform for squats. They just seem to wear out quickly.

For Oly lifts - I wear the Reebok Oly shoes.

My everyday WOD show is the Inov-8 F-LITE 240. I do like the Inov-8 233, but they're more suited if the WOD will have more running/box jumps/double-unders.

I use the Altra Zero Drop...perfect for Crossfit and they have a wide toe box.
