As the CNN clip shows, many Jews feel they are forced to leave France because of Antisemitism. What the clip DIDN'T show was that attacks on Jews are usually the work of French Arabs. Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose!

A lot of the Jews in France left Algeria for the same reasons. Now Algeria has followed them.

An irony that is rather unfortunate.

By "Arabs" , you mean "Muslims", right? Arabic people have no inherent hatred of Jews, however, Islam teaches anti-Semitism.

You are, of course, correct. The distinction needed to be pointed out. Thank you for doing so.

What a load of bullshit. The Abrahamic (Judeo-Christian-Muslim) religions are all derived from the same nonsense. The membership of these religions range from peace loving moderates to full blown nut cases, be they al-Qaida, the Westboro Baptist Church or extremist Jewish settlers.

I agree. Religion is for the weak-minded. It would be great to rid the world of it.

I'm getting really sick of the Islamophobia on this board.

Religion may be for the weak-minded, but when people are being forced to leave a major democracy such as France because of murders, continual harassment, and fear it is NOT "Islamophobia"! Actually, I need to take that back, since Muslims are doing the killing, it is LITERALLY Islamophobia.. BTW, are you genuinely OK with that?

Is there actual evidence (i.e. numbers) that they are leaving?

France is a secular state that does not tolerate displays of religion, be they muslim, jewish or christian. I'm actually perfectly ok with that. It wouldn't work for America, but it's part of French culture.

Where there is violence towards a minority, it is the role of the state to protect them. If there is actual evidence that France is failing to do that, I would not be OK with it.

I totally agree. I'm not AT ALL a religious person. VERY atheist here. However, I think that a distinction needs to be made between

According to a Pew Research, a poll conducted in 2011 revealed that 39% of Muslims in the US were in favor of having homosexuals accepted by society. 45% stated that it should be discouraged by society. So it's more complex and nuanced than stating ALL Muslims hate homosexuals...that clearly is not the case in the US.

In France it is simply because they are a newer immigrant group that needs time to settle. Older generations are more French and more moderate. Newer generations still retain the norms from their previous countries.

As for Jews leaving, it doesn't seem as if it's a massive exodus. Regardless religious intolerance is not okay...and this is coming from an atheist. I may not believe and may actually disagree, but as long as one doesn't push their religion on me...I'm okay.

Well, if you had watched the video I started the thread with, you'd see there is evidence. You could find further evidence in such books as Lost Corners of the Republic.

PS Shouldn't you look at the evidence that's been presented prior to asking if there is actually evidence?

The result is that anti-Semitism is dramatically on the rise in Europe, incited by the behavior of Israel and its supporters.

So if Israel does something that's wicked, it's OK to kill or beat up Jews? Do you realize that many Jews protest Israel's behavior? Would you say that if the Irish Government or the IRA did something wrong it would be OK to kill or beat up Irish Americans? (Something like assassinating Lord Mountbatten?)

I watched the video. A CNN report is not evidence. Anecdotes are not evidence. Hysteria is not evidence.

So CNN isn't a reputable news source when you disagree with it?
