Love to travel and this year I have decided to travel alone. Want to just do me and enjoy time being by myself and maybe meeting new people as well. I have a few places in mind, but would love some opinions as to which places are better for solo travelers. Places I have though of are Boston, Chicago, New York, or Puerto Rico. Any other suggestions would be great as well. Thank you.

Boston and Chicago are both great cities with lots to explore and do. You didn't really say what it is you like to do but I love these two cities. NY is great but much harder to meet people and for some reason they take pride in NOT being open to strangers. That could all be different if you know someone or meet someone through somewhere like this site. Don't know PR very well but obviously the focus would be much more exploring the island and beaches. Ever thought about London? It's my favorite city and you can easily find people to chat up in the pubs plus the beauty of the city itself is worth it. You can also take a day train in and out of the city to Oxford or Bath or Cambridge and be back in time for theatre that night. Nightlife runs late and everything is walkable or easily found by tube.

I traveled all summer and went to several different cities. Boston and Toronto were my favorite. If you have your passport you should definitely consider it as well. I still loved Chicago. New York was great for the sights but I would never live there or visit too long. Again, if you have your passport I've heard Vancouver is amazing.
