When I see some guys squatting mega weight x, I'm watching to see if the guy's in trouble. Not all folks in the gym are clueless idiots. Sometimes, folks do a movement so poorly (1/4 reps, or leaning over, or on a ball, etc., that you just have to laugh internally because you know they are almost certainly uncoachable, and certainly don't observe guys that do it well. E.g., I have 19.5 inch arms at 5'5". I do reps with 10# weights, in perfect form. The stupid asses watch me, not believing that training with a knowledge of the body, and executing an informed plan WORKS.
Just because Mom said God is real, or that you have to lift heavy to get big, doesn't make it so. That's not good science. Neither is true.
