Cancer screenings

    Do gay men need toget screened earlier for colon and prostate cancer just because of gay sex? Like hpv and stuff?

    Colo/Rectal cancer yes. Prostate cancer? No.

    Regarding HPV, the head and neck cancers are equal in straight and gay people. Just get tested regularly for STDS.

    I know gay men are at higher risk for anal cancer but I didn't think colon cancer...

    I have been prone to prostrate infections all my life. Not sure why, but i get screened a few times a year. Any volunteers... LOL..

    There are no screening methods for HPV unless the person is symptomatic.

    You are correct! Colon cancer from HPV is unlikely. If a guy has anal cancer as a result of HPV, the cells can spread to the colon. The HPV virus does not spread to the colon.
