^ i figured the opposite. she is pushing the envelope and this would probably cause more negative press than postive. America is a full of a bunch of prudes, Ill glad she doesnt give a shit and does what she wants.

she has done a scene like this in several of her concerts... specifically the velvet rope and all for u. they guy on guy is new, but she has always pushed the envelope with sex... i see this as her just staying true to form, not trying to sell tickets. icon_rolleyes.gif

Exactly. She had done this before. Meaning she's repeating herself. Further unclassy behavior from Janet when she doesn't really need to do that. Besides, in art - and I use that term loosely in the discussion context here - it's better to imply than impale.

Yeah, it DOES sell tickets, but apparently not to PRUDES like you and the others who are trying to sound all moral and righteous. Every other society has a place for the occasional public or staged celebrations of human sexuality. Seems like only we Americans get off so much on getting on our high horse and dissing this show of Janet's, and others like "O" as being degrading or somehow too base or immoral for the stage.

I applaud Janet for being the sexy, sultry, smokin' hot and talented show-babe that she is. If you don't like it, then why are you even part of a website that is, by its very nature, populated by and for people who celebrate the best their bodies (which is as basic as it gets) can be?

Being buffed and ripped is the very definition of sexy, and sexual, not to mention healthy. And Janet, in her late 40's, is a great example of what more Americans should strive for. Prudish people need to get naked in the hot tub and masturbate more. Then they might actually enjoy life rather than dissing the rest of us who do!

come on runnin... id agree with u except that i think WE ALL can think of one pop phenom who "impaled" herself to an iconic status. mmmhmmm. and ur initial argument asked "is this what she has to do NOW to sell tickets". Repeat or not, my point is she didnt just start doing this NOW, but has kept this as part of her show because it is something that has always gotten her fans riled up and she knows this.

    1. Madonna and Janet - two completely different entities. Madonna's impaled herself so many times she's immune to it and so are we.

    2. Janet has had freaky parts of her shows, but she's never had male dancers simulating sex with one another as such. It reeks of 'tossing a bone to the children' as she might say.

    1. i agree, different entities, none the less she impaled herself.

    2. i just see it as an evolution of her show. not a bone lol.

but we are free to have a difference of opinion right? icon_rolleyes.gif

Mmhmm, although I know I'm right on this one.
Janet Jackson does not I repeat does not need to have boys doing the fake nasty on her stage. Not now, not ever, not even.

Actually you are wrong. It doesn't sell tickets as Live Nation cancelled many of her concerts due to weak ticket sales. They made up this vertigo story as to why they cancelled and then it came out it was all made up.

    No one cares about Janet.....boohoo.

How much were tickets to these shows?

There's nothing moral or prudish in my judgment that Janet didn't/doesn't need that element in her show. I just don't find it all that necessary or provocative of her. It's almost pandering to her 'children' (her word) audience, and we know Janet is capable of being a top notch performer all on her own.

I am not anti-Janet. Not in the least. I'm just not a fan of Janet having to/choosing to resort to this.

Again I'm making no judgment of the show as a whole, merely the presented element.
