Obviously as I mentioned in another thread I've been thinking about it for a while but the decision or at least the notion to do it came in a weird way. It was after I dropped the bisexual moniker and was straight gay and I guess I was trying to find a new identity. I didn't feel comfortable being male and assumed it was because I was meant to be female. I didn't realize then it was because I was unhappy with my weight. I started wearing makeup which made me look like a fat drag queen. So fast forward a year later and I weight almost eighty pounds less than I did then and I still feel the same way about changing sexes but I'm not entirely sold on the idea. I made a promise to myself to try and see if I've lost enough weight by the end of this year and then see if by then by body looks different. If I like the way it looks and I want to stay the same sex I will. But if I still feel incomplete or not quite right then I'll seriously start looking into changing sexes starting off by consulting a therapist experienced in this.

But anyway that's my story. Has anyone else felt like they wanted to change sexes? Did coming out or coming to terms with your sexual orientation make you question your gender identity? Do you feel comfortable calling yourself a man now? What does it feel like?

You wouldn't necessarily have to get rid of it. You could stay pre op.

Kinda pointless if you have fake boobs, ass and vagina. What's the purpose in being a chick, having a vag but can't have kids?

It's about being able to truly look and live like the person you feel you are inside.

This would definitely be my recommendation, especially because you're still unsure about your feelings. You could additionally reach out to trans-support groups and start a dialogue to compare experiences. I don't know if cisgendered males are going to be able to relate to these emotions in a way that's going to be helpful for you.

I wasn't really looking for help just starting a dialogue. I've been slack on reaching out to support groups because sometimes I think 'oh that was just a phase' and then I go right back to thinking 'what if its not a phase?'

Gender Identity and Homosexuality are two separate things.
Personally, I have never had any desire to become a Heterosexual Female.

So you're saying infertile women are pointless? Interesting.

Fertility and childbearing do not wholly constitute what a woman is or is not. That is antiquated thinking.

I was questioning him about it for starters.

Secondly, that's where I was going with it.

Last time I post on one of your threads, goddamit.

Never. I rejoice in being a man. Of the 2 sexes being male has every advantage I want. On the anatomy side sometimes my balls are a hassle, have to make special accommodations for them at times, but better than having top-heavy tits. And if I had to socialize mostly with other women I think I'd hang myself. icon_razz.gif

I appreciate you starting this forum, clearly this is a tough idea for anyone to digest.

However you need to make a distinction between wanting a fit man's body or a woman's, a completely different sex. To me those are mutually exclusive decisions. I used to be 115 Lbs, so I went through a similar phase of loathing myself, but changing my sex never occurred to me as an alternative. I guess what I'm trying to say is that wanting to be a woman goes much deeper than just looks and personal satisfaction, and maybe you should explore that more.

Never. I really like who I am and what I am, a man. That doesn't mean that for others to consider this is odd. I say, "consider what makes you most satisfied and happy".

Well see that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to see if I can ever be comfortable in the body of a man.

You're already in the body of a man (fat, skinny, lean, bulk, whatever). You've got to learn to be comfortable with yourself. I think you're headed in the right direction with your questioning.

    Thank you for that suggestion.

Well for now I'm going to see if being a man can make me happy. If not then Ive got to consider other options.
