Laughing my ass off watching BBC's Top Gear. Do any of you guys love this show as much as I do? Full-on rugby, in a stadium, with cars and a giant rugby ball. I want to play icon_biggrin.gif

The British one started it all, right? I like that show a lot, but I'm partial to the American version. My jaw was on the floor when Tanner drove the Bugatti...

British one by far trumps any other versions. They're so fucking funny.

I think I've seen most episodes over the years. icon_lol.gif #sad considering there are like 13 seasons.

    The British show is AMAZING.

They're like a bunch of queens bickering about the specific car they like. It's great.
Also, Clarkson has some of the best comebacks icon_biggrin.gif

Agreed....British version is best, and I can't say much about the Australian version because I'm only aware of it from the BBC's episode when the British and Australian teams go head-to-head in a series of race challenges like the upside-down car, and the utility van with the twin-turbo Jaguar engine. That was a funny episode. The American version is lousy. They need to dump all three hosts and start over. The hosts are dopes.

Trollileo saidI only watch it with my roommate. He's a real grease junkie. I love watching it, though. Great stuff. I love their "challenges" like crossing South America on a piece of shit car. Was one of the most fascinating things I've ever seen.

    American edition is shyte.

This show is awesome. And all the Reliant Robin clips are great. What's better then watching a guy roll a car countless guys doing nothing but taking a turn. The best one is the one during the news cast.

One of the funniest shows on TV. They manage to slip something educational into almost every show. I love the ongoing gag with the Morris Marina falling from the sky, or a piano falling on it.

it comes on the history channel i think. it really is crap. They just do all manner of stupid things with cars but without the witty dialogue and without any respect for certain cars

Well, to be fair, Tanner is at least qualified to make the comments he makes. He is a professional driver, something no one on the British version is. However, the British version has so much more experience that they really do know what the consumer looks at, and they do give great feedback that's actually really valuable. The American version just tries to be funny.

Either way, British or American, I still have no idea how they get away with some of the things they do... The Brits demolished two factory smoke stacks on top of a car they wanted to retire. That's awesome.

I marvel at this all the time...how do they do it? What are the back stories? Who pays for the costs? Like in the car-rugby episode, who paid for those 10 or so Kias to get mangled? Who pays for the turf restoration? This was a fairly simple challenge, too. Other's really must be complicated to execute.

I dont know... The Americans recently drove three luxury SUVs up a ski slope in CA. How the hell did they get authorized to do that!?
