For the younger folks on the board she is the "I Touch Myself" singer from the early 90s. It was the bands biggest hit and quite frankly she probably turn a gay guy straight especially in the video

She had battle multiple sclerosis and breast cancer that really took a toll on her

The group was labelled a one hit wonder but had some really good songs that were actually played quite often on MTV in the early and mid 80s. Comparisons to Chrissie Hynde big time, the Austrailian version of her. She was one of the pioneers of female driven new wave rock, so underrated.

She was awesome! "I Touch Myself" was always one of my favorite songs. The Divinyls were great, and had a lot of good music.

RIP CHRISSY! WE WILL MISS YOU

Chrissy was more than the wild child of Australian Rock, she had a screen and stage presence, that gained her a following as well, although she was undoubtedly known best for her time with the Divinyls, co-writing and performing songs on 5 albums and being one of only two original members.

Unfortunately Chrissy had revealed she had MS in 2007 as well as a further diagnosis of Breast cancer in 2010, and due to the MS was unable to undergo radio or chemo therapies to treat her Breast cancer, although she did briefly have a remission in 2011.

Aussies in particular will miss Chrissy, she was a trailblazer of Australian music and a national treasure, a woman of amazing talent and guts.

RIP Christine Joy Amphlett, 25th October 1959- 21 April 2013.

She was awesome and more than a one hit wonder down here. I saw her several times in concert and she went off. I also was lucky enough to meet her and couldnt get over how shy she was off stage.
Australias rock goddess will live in our hearts for ever.

I only know the song "I touch myself" but I always loved that song and I thought she had a nice voice. It's such a shame that she had to be taken that way but I pray she is in a better place. RIP...

I saw her in concert many years ago. She had an altercation with the lead guitarist mid show and ended out kicking him in the balls. He stormed off and they played the remainder of the set without a guitarist.
