Basically I’m fed up with these gay apps , websites I hardly get messaged and I haven’t met anyone on them in a long time . I feel like most of the time I have to initiate a conversation and they give me less in return, I feel like most gay men are superficial and don’t give the time to get to know a Person. I don’t know what to do anymore

i feel you, man. basically being degraded to a sex object but then again, if you're on a hookup site, that's how it usually is. it's funny how it's easy to find someone on a hookup site BUT folks aren't interested in shit when it comes to dating. if only my okcupid page was treated like the adam4adam one. icon_sad.gif folks just get extra uppity on the dating tip where it's "we have to date or i'm not speaking to you" BUT yet they could give a fuck less when it comes to sex which is weird to me. they're like "let's fuck". HUH?

it seems as if folks aren't even remotely interested in being friends if they feel that you aren't a potential love interest which makes absolutely no sense to me at all. like do you suddenly fall in love with someone without even getting to know them even if you're attracted to them. that's what i seriously think some people do. they just jump from a to z and then they want to rush everything. it's as if time flies with some people where they want to immediately get involved. like i've had some guys straight up try to push me into that direction when i'm not even trying to go there like that to begin with.

for the most part, i noticed that there's a lot of people around my age that are full of shit when it comes to dating.

Well, you can start off by NOT looking for guys on websites an Gay apps. Why don't you try going to a bar or something?

Do you realize that you always criticize yourself? It is a very bad quality especially to you, you're hurting yourself...
You're like a 'frog in the well ' always dark and cold, and always wonders why you can't see the light. If you love yourself and for the sake of yourself have confidence and "GET OUT OF THE WELL!" and see the world.

    My advice to you:
    1. Stop criticizing yourself.
    2. You're fine & no, no one is perfect.
    3. Go out & meet real people
    4. Even you're starving to death, don't always complain to others.
    5. Online sites! Take it easy.
    6. Be cool
    7. Smile, at least fake your smile. Change your profile pics to pics that has a smile on it
    8. Realize that Only you can pick up yourself, no others can.
    9. If someone or something hurts you, then don't go near to them.
    10. Once again...go out, meet real people, complain less and smile more...then automatically, the confidence comes to you.

Can I just be the first to say OP that if you weren't living all the way up there in the Northern Hemisphere, I would totally be after you (remind me of Vinny from Jersey Shore hehe and I love Vinny!))

The websites an apps give the user the impression of going shopping. all the clothes are right there on the rack in all the different styles and sizes you could imagine.

If you want to just have people constantly emailing you, your profile(pictures) have to stand out from all the other hundreds out there.

In other words, how could you not expect superficiality from such a place?

If you go to a hot dog stand looking for deviled eggs you will be disappointed.
