    Plot:

A former drug user, Heidi is now clean and works as a rock DJ at the local radio station along with fellow DJs, Herman Whitey Salvador and Herman Jackson. Following one of their regular evening shows, Heidi receives a square wooden box containing a vinyl record; the only indication as to its origin is a note proclaiming “A gift from the Lords.” Assuming it is merely a PR stunt by an ambitious band, Heidi gives the record a spin and immediately begins to experience bizarre flashbacks to a past, long-forgotten trauma triggered by the haunting sounds contained on the record

Has anyone had the chance to see Rob Zombie's new film, THE LORDS OF SALEM?

It didn't open in my area of Pensacola, FL. Guess I'll have to hope it'll show on the ON DEMAND format soon! Though this film is NOT for everyone, I'm hearing great great things about how surrealistic & skin crawlingly creepy the film is.

This film is a complete & total departure from every film Rob Zombie has ever done. Eschewing in your face brutality for a 70's slow-burn creepy horror approach. Everyone who has seen it, loved or hated it, described it as a total mind f*ck of a film.

It's being described as if "Ken Russell directed Stanley Kubrick's THE SHINING". Def a good mix of The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, & The Sentinel all thrown in one.

As a fan of 70's style Euro-Horror, this film is a must-see for me!

Getting this now, from the usual 'legitimate' sources...............icon_lol.gif

Hope its good. I really like Zombie's style visually but his films are hit or miss. Devils Rejects is a horror classic though.

    Just watched this film.....

& it was AWESOME!!! Def better than last month's EVIL DEAD remake!

This is NOTHING at all like Rob Zombie's other films.

Past notorious RZ trademarks that are absent/GONE (& gladly!!) in this film are:

the "white trash" dialogue/banter between characters, hyper-gritty shaky cam violence, gore.

This film just DRIPS with horrific/surrealistic/dreadful atmosphere.

The 3 modern-day witch sisters (70's actress Judy Greeson, E.T's/Cujo's/The Howling's Dee Wallace, & Patricia Quinn - "Magenta" from Rockky Horror Picture Show) were all terrific in their sinister roles!

80's actress Meg Foster is absolutely terrifying as the head Salem witch who's out to get Heidi Hawthorne.

If you're a fan of The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, The Sentinel, INSIDIOUS, or early works by italian horror director Dario Argento --- this movie is for you!!

Hand's down Rob Zombie's best film.
