What were some of your favorite sports when you were an adolescent?

I really liked baseball, soccer, tennis, and karate (not sure if fighting is considered a sport but yeah).

    How about you? icon_smile.gif

Raised alongside an athletic brother and also my mom & maternal grandparents were into sports--not so much my dad--all I ever really did was swim, though I never considered that a sport. I wasn't State fast but I was a pretty strong swimmer.

My problem with swimming was that turning upside down gets me sick. I could turn off a wall during a race so I didn't look stupid but now when I swim laps, I just turn at the surface so I don't throw up.

As the poster above, I also liked ice skating and I was pretty good at ice hockey but then we moved to the Caribbean so there went that.

The only sport I ever really excelled at was avoiding sports. I used to lose points for my side of color war at summer camp. We've got a no show at softball, minus five points. Silent meal? Pass me the fuckin' ketchup, will ya? "What team" some monitor would point and scream at me. Minus five points. Ooops.

I'm actually a very good team player in my family life and among my friends and also at work; so I recognize there are good qualities to sports but I tend to isolate that as there are some bad qualities too. Everything in it's place. I'm hardly a team player in most of the rest of life. You can tell by how I fail to do my very best to help feed the over inflated ego of one of your team leaders or how I escape joining in with the national jackals ganging up on some poor schmuck online as ya'all are chewing their face off Go team! I click out of those threads. I can't even watch that shit.

And I never understood watching sports or rooting for the town team. The only thing I can figure is it must be one of those jokes going over my head. Golf on TV? Why? You've got to be kidding me.

Basketball. Then, now, forever - even if it does break my heart to watch it devolve from a skill sport, light contact, into a brutal, thuggish hack fest lol. Still play all the time.

I did a little bit of running when in HS, not much though. I really started running when I got to college.

    Very cool answers. icon_smile.gif

I forgot to add running to my list. I loved running and I was pretty fast. But to my embarrassment in the apartments I lived in when I was in high school, there was this group who'd always shout "Run Forrest, run!" because they'd see me running to my friends house. lol

But yeah, great answers. It seems like basketball & football were quite the popular ones.
