Joeyphx444 saidDo any of you have lesbian friends? All my girl friends are straight so I'm wondering if most gay men have straight girl friends as well. I know guys who have other gay friends but rarely here or really see, to be honest, gay-lesbian interaction. Obviously they don't have the attraction in common and places like pride, bars, clubs are overwhelmingly filled with men or geared toward men only
We have just a couple straight female friends, and some acquaintances. We do have a number of lesbian friends, though.
We go out to dinner with them, have dinner at our home or at their places, have done all kinds of things together, from sailboat cruises to helping them with their charity fundraisers, and we were active in the political campaign of another.
My husband has a lesbian friend he's known for decades who stays in our spare bedroom when she visits Florida. He co-founded a mixed gay & lesbian chorus, in which we both performed. We've been involved with an annual lesbian charity golf tournament here for several years.
My late husband & I were the same way. Our first Thanksgiving dinner together we were guests of a lesbian couple.
Nevertheless, we spend more time with our gay friends than lesbian. I think that's natural for both gays & lesbians, to have more in common with the same gender. But it's also unnatural to avoid each other socially, and that we don't do.
