With the bolstering popularity of the Horror Genre in our television shows these days Is becoming quite lucrative.

American Horror Story, Teen Wolf, The Walking Dead, Bate's Motel, & Hannibal all packing in the millions of household viewers per week.

So it's no shock that other networks are jumping on the bandwagon to have their own hit horror/drama series. MTV is the newest one, turning the 90's horror franchise SCREAM into a weekly television show for the network.

I actually like that Horror is becoming popular on the tele & networks because each series is carefully crafted & planned out. Often delivering the goods in the late evening hours - from non-stop action, thrills, suspense, & dare I even say "gore"?. As opposed to, say, alot (though not all!) of the 'horror' dreck Hollywood pumps into theaters. More often than not some of the horror coming out of Hollywood is a JOKE (2012's Possession & The Apparition anyone??)

Though MTV is notorious for their "reality tv" offerings (16 & preg, Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, Jwow&Snooki, blah blah blah!), I actually have enjoyed a few of their SCRIPTED fictional tv shows & am in fact a fan of their current hit scripted series AWKWARD. .

I will of course check out the first or few episodes of this new SCREAM television show when it premieres. However I honestly CAN'T see how SCREAM can be done as a 'weekly serial' (??!?)

Fans of Scream, or whomever....what are your thoughts??

They're not. The M in MTV needs to be turned upside down to make it WTV. W = Worthless.

There's only one word this show screams....FAIL!

I have a feeling it'll be cancelled before season 1 is finished.

    MTV is such a joke.

Like...IF a network like AMC, F/X or something did it, would seem more plausible for the style SCREAM is - a slasher, with a bodycount of murders, & some blood/gore.

MTV can't & won't be allowed to provide those things nor push the envelope for a slasher setting.

I don't know how they will drag this out but who knows. They might be able to pull it off. As long as there are hot guys I'm in.

it's too bad Liev Schreiber's character died, because I was going to say they could put him on tv and I would not complain.

I liked Scream because of the humor. If they can do one big setting, multiple plot lines, murders and laughs over one season where the cast is being reduced one by one, that might be fun.
