tazzari saidAs a Christian, I find this repellant. These people do NOT stand for all Christians, and to pick such a bigot is an insult to more than just the LGBT community.

The National Day of Prayer Committee, of which James Dobson's wife is the Chair, was given control of the event by President Reagan in 1982. It has always been composed of Christian fundamentalists. Therefore the agenda is Christian fundamentalist, even though the concept is supposed to be multi-denominational, a sort of "pan-religious" event.
But even so, the endorsement of the US government for ANY religious ceremony may violate the US Constitution. Court cases are still being heard on challenges to this national prayer day. How about a National Atheists Day?
