6 month progress

Back in November, a month shy of my 30th bday, I got very serious about building some muscle, burning the bit of fat I had, getting into a better sleep pattern, ending late night eating, getting adequate protein, and working out with different exercises like swimming, presses, resistance bands, push ups, sprints, 10- 13 mile runs, 30 mile bike rides, yoga.. basically creating a broad workout routine that wouldn't get boring that would work all areas of my body. I am also training for my first triathlon, so that is a huge jump in routine right there.

I am thrilled with the results so far- and all that hard work over the winter has now given me the best body I have ever had in time for summer and pool parties icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

In just this short amount of time, I went from this:

    To this:

Living proof that if you stick with it, you will get great results!!

The biggest thing that worked for me was creating workouts that were FUN.. I got sick of doing monotonous presses and squats in the gym so I started running to the river, finding big boulders along the levees, and lifting them like I would weights. I love being outside and I get more motivation being in the sun than an air conditioned room, but that's me.

Feel free to share your progress buds.

Great progress man, in 6 months. I have just gone back to gym after a long hiatus. I just hope that I would be somewhere close to what you have achieved.
    Any pointers?

One motivator for me is the stress factor- I feel so much more at peace after a work out that it is a great side benefit. If you are having a stressful day, or if you are feeling down for whatever reason, the adrenaline rush you feel after the first 15 minutes makes all the work worth it.

It's a process that takes one day at a time, and it takes a very disciplined and strong person to adhere to this kind of regimen, good luck !

My biggest achievement is my chest- upper body has never been my strong suit, I've always had naturally very thick developed buttocks/ legs/ thighs. I've been doing 30 minute push up routines a couple times a week for the past month (probably about 300 push ups total with different types like decline, atlas, standard, arms at chest width) and have noticed my biggest results from that as I sweat and feel the effort way more than any bench presses I did. Plus push ups are more than a chest workout- I'm getting great tone on my shoulders and biceps as well from that.

I can now do 11 wide grip pull ups followed by 6 to 7 close grip pull ups. A year ago I could do 1 pull up, barely. And everybody notices too.. it sneaks up on you. Friends I haven't seen in weeks or months eyes' get really wide when they first see me. It's nice to get noticed like that, but the inner satisfaction is unbeatable.
