Alright - I really hate to make a post like this, but this has really been irritating me the past two days and want to make sure I'm not shirking any sort of civic responsibility here by letting this slide.

A guy on Adam4Adam initiated a message exchange with me a few days ago:

    Him: Let's troll together!

Me: Hehe...you figured me out. I don't have a regular account here - Grindr and RealJock are much better.

Him: I don't know those sites...will I have better luck at finding someone in their 20s instead of old coots wanting to get in my pants? Everyone my age on this site is just looking for a sugar daddy and treats me like I have the plague.

Me: Grindr is not a website. It's a free phone app. People there are somewhat less seedy than here.

Him: I don't have that kind of phone. I wonder all the things I could accomplish and people I could destroy if only I had a healthier budget. And I won't give up on the internet yet, I'll just keep it in its place. I'm not sleeping tonight because of all the people who are getting away with being themselves, and are still alive. My heart is screaming out for their blood, but all I have is a pen and some paper. For now......

After that, I (terrified) saved a screenshot of our conversation (with his picture) and deleted my account. I didn't want to think about it anymore. Some people suggested I contact the authorities. My inclination is no since this guy didn't make any detailed threats to anyone specific, so there really isn't anything he said that'd be actionable as far as the police are concerned. Most likely, it's just a lot of butthurt, and I'd feel bad for wasting valuable law enforcement time and resources if that's all it is. On the other hand, on the off chance this guy ever did ever lose his shit and go and off some people, I don't know if I could forgive myself if there were something I could have done to put him on someone's radar. The guy seems pretty unstable. If I'm wrong or if there's something I can do given the above, please let me know.

The responsible thing to do would be to report it.

Thanks for the advice all - I'll forward the screenshot. And fortunately, my profile didn't have my name, pic, or real stats, so I should be safe...hopefully.

Crazy SOB (the guy you were talking to)... glad you departed. There are really some odd dudes on A4A, I'd stick to sites like this one where you actually talk to.. and can meet reasonable guys. I think every site probably has some good ones, but Adam seems to be a draw for trolls.
