I'm confused as to whether or not this is subterfuge... if they wanted people to take the problem seriously...

By your sound logic, you could also make the claim that Obamacare could do the same given the unemployment/part time work that it is/will cause. This is another good example of you attempting to do mental gymnastics in defense of idiocy.

    Blah blah blah.

It's not up to me to explain the connection. I happened to get it; you didn't.

I didn't realize I asked you to explain the connection. Oh how exceedingly unclever you are. icon_rolleyes.gif

I hope *I* get it. Seems the gist is that climate change will cause economic and social upheaval, and will disadvantage some groups more than others. These Members of Congress are trying to identify which groups will be most harmed, and in what ways. They contend that the world's women (not exclusively in the US) are more vulnerable than men to the negative effects of climate change, and have outlined some specific ways in which women in particular could be impacted.

But then if one's mind is ideologically closed to the existence of climate change, or that human activity could be a causative factor, then you don't want to hear about such studies regarding the human consequences, either. And as with climate change, you will be prone to ridiculing and mocking them.

Do *I* get it? Seems the gist is that climate change will cause economic and social upheaval, and will disadvantage some groups more than others. I as well, although it would have to be pretty massive and extreme climate change to cause such an economic collapse. Let's face it, most people would be negatively affected. Men, women and children.

Though not discussed in detail in that short article, I would presume their model follows other examples of economic collapse & famine, which do impact women more heavily than men, especially in non-developed countries.

And two ways a collapse could happen very quickly would be with changes in agricultural patterns & output, and changes to fresh water sources & supply. Some climate models predict desert and semi-desert conditions developing very rapidly in some currently populated & agricultural areas.

And so naturally, let's say that global warming will result in more women having to resort to prostitution. Yes, great logic when you have more immediate policies that are actually making people poorer - and hurting the poor in particular.

Here's some conservatives very worried about climate change. Interesting read.

Heh - once again you are such a clown. You think the claim that climate change will cause more prostitution is ridiculous means that you aren't therefore concerned about climate change. Do you need a six year old to help you understand the problems with this connection? icon_lol.gif
