The amount of people that die in airplane crashes per year are minuscule compared to car crashes.

    This^^ .

Not to mention that every-time you are in a car your life is at risk. So how many time do you take a car ride compared to a plane trip?

It just seems a lot more scary due to the larger number of people that die at the same time.

A sudden car crash I don't see coming is different than a plane going down and you know you are about to die and can't do anything about it.

    I just hate flying icon_confused.gif

True but your chances of dying in a car crash or even as a bystander (waiting for the bus, crossing the street, riding your bike ...etc) are still far greater than a plane crash.

Besides seems you are assuming that all car crashes are sudden wherein you will die instantly.

I used to be like you. It's a sort of phobia I guess. People always say "but it's the safest transportation blah blah" but still, a plane seems to us like a giant missile launched in the sky and ready to smash on the ground, with us inside.
I am not afraid of planes anymore because now I know about them. I have been very curious and I read so many things about planes. I also watched this TV series called Mayday. They are little documentaries. Each describes a crash, why it happened etc. It's very strange, but knowing why a crash happens, and what happens exactly in those situations, made me more tranquil about planes. Now, when I fly, I relate to everything I read and I saw, and I really enjoy the planes now.

but in all seriousness though, it's okay to be paranoid. the reality is you're going to die at some point. the bright side is that they say that people usually go through an extreme sense of peace before death as a way to cope consciously. plus you can also die at any moment. you can drop dead, die in a car wreck, have a heart attack and etc. live like it's your last day alive, appreciate your life and don't be afraid to let everyone you love know that you love them. icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

    This has to be fake.

How is someone recording this at the same exact time it crashes? What the fuck were they video taping it for? And how come there was no reaction to it at all?

This looks like a trailer for a new Michael Bay movie.

I love to fly however, I always fly over night so I don't have to deal with screaming kids. Plus not as many people fly at night so it saves money. icon_twisted.gif

there were only 7 people on the plane - it was a cargo plane supposedly going from Bagram AB, Afghanistan to Dubia, UAE.

I'm curious about the time stamp on it, but it's a legit video though.

rumour has it that cargo shifted during ascent and that caused the aircraft to be off-centered. at this point, the pilot has no control over the aircraft and is unfortunately hosed.
