Kanji tattoos...be careful with them

    As someone who can read and understand Japanese, I always cringe when I see kanji tattoos that aren't correct. I was just talking to someone the other day who had one on his arm where the characters were written incorrectly (missing strokes, etc) and also didn't even form an actual word, but I didn't say anything.

    I think kanji tattoos can be cool, but at least do some research and verify your design with someone who can speak/read Chinese or Japanese before you get your tattoo. And also keep in mind that certain kanji combinations that makes sense in Chinese might not make sense in Japanese and vice versa, so there's a chance that even if you get it right, you might still get mistaken as an idiot.
